Tonight was Senior Night for swim team. Instead of doing it during a normal swim meet, to cut down on numbers, coach did a gold v. purple swim meet and recognized the seniors then. When coach finished all the seniors who weren’t the full 4 year graduates, and got started doing the 4 year seniors, she got emotional. She couldn’t finish, so Coach Kruppa had to finish for her! She has really gotten attached to these kids and is really going to miss them! It was sweet! I didn’t get emotional AT ALL and kept it together until the very end, when the team did their team chant. I got emotional, because that is the LAST time I’m going to hear it and the kids did it so enthusiastically!! Everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves and the little bit of normal the night was! It was a fun night too. The seniors got to draft who they wanted on their teams—Katelyn was on the purple team, and the purple team ended up winning! It was fun to watch the kids all having so much fun together! And Katelyn FINALLY got her basket of candy! She was happy about that! As far as events, Katelyn did all the relays and the 100 Fly! It was coed and she was swimming against mostly boys... and she beat more than 1/2 of them! It was fun to watch her do that! She's a strong flyer!
