B & B @ the DBacks Game...

Brooke and Ben went to an Arizona Diamondbacks game last night-- Ben's first! He's gotta get into all the Arizona teams now that he's a new resident! They had fun even though they lost horribly to the Milwaukee Brewers...

Lake Day Fun Day!

We had a little bit of a rough start when we arrived at the lake and the battery was dead... (It wasn't turned off from a few weeks ago soooo......) Ben's mom Megan was with us and REALLY wanted to stay and play at the lake so she said a prayer with Brooke and I while the guys dealt with the problem. I honestly would've been ok to go home, but she really wanted to stay. Sure enough, we found someone that could launch right next to us and jump us from their truck to our boat and it worked. We ended up having the best time! Megan and Todd and the boys met us at the dock and we headed out for a fun day. The weather wasn't super hot and their was a nice breeze, so even waiting in the boat while the guys figured out what to do, we were nice and cool in the shade! Ben was super helpful in talking to this guy that helped us and they were a super nice family! We kept thanking them and Bill even offered some cash, but they wouldn't take it. People at the lake are generally really nice and pitch in to help all the time. We've helped people out here and there as well... so that worked out nicely that we were able to find someone to help us this time. The water was pretty cold, so I didn't surf or really go in, but everyone else had a blast and Megan (Ben's mom) even got up and surfed for a bit. She was so determined to do it and she finally got it! Luke surfed with Todd and LOVES it and Logan surfed with Todd and DOESN"T love it! He was cold when he got back in the boat and all he wanted to do for the rest of the afternoon was sit on my lap and cuddle! What a cutie! I didn't mind at all!!! (Another reason why I didn't surf!) We had such a relaxing day and we went to Chipotle for dinner afterward. Then everyone came over to help clean up the boat and get it put away. Ben is such a HUGE help with the boat! He does all the things I used to have to do and it is SOOOOO NICE not to have to do it. AND, he LOVES it! He loves to help and is always jumping in to help do things beforehand, while we're at the lake and afterward... which makes it so much less stressful for me to have that help! I love it!!! We had a great day!

 

Kristine's Graduation!!!

It was so fun to be able to attend Kristine's graduation from Ultrasound school today! She finally did it! We are so proud of her and her journey to this point! Congrats Kristine!!!

Mother's Day!

Megan sent this cute picture of Logan over this morning! This little guy has my heart big time... love him! He's at such a cute stage right now! It was a fun mother's day! The guys made us all a yummy tri tip dinner with mashed potatoes, green beans and a yummy green salad and berries and cream for dessert! We went over to play games at Megan's house later after the boys went to bed. We've gotten in a lot of games this fun weekend that Katelyn has been here! It was such a nice and restful mother's day and the girls got me gifts and wrote me the sweetest notes! I really enjoyed reading their thoughts and feelings about me and our relationship over the years. It is a sweet relationship I have with each of my girls! They are all doing such great things with their lives and I love watching them grow and progress-- even as adult women! It's been a great day!

A Shower for Abigail!

It was so fun to celebrate the coming birth of sweet Abigail into our family! Robin came down for it and Shelby drove over for it as well! Katelyn flew in yesterday to stay for the whole week and go to Kaden's track meet with us next week in Tucson. (We got a 3fer with Katie-- the shower, Mother's Day and the track meet!) We had so much fun eating and visiting and the food was so good! I've forgotten how good the food is at Mimi's. It was also kind off nostalgic too, because I used to take the girls to Mimi's on the last day of school every year... it was such a fun day! Megan got lots of cute things too! (Shelby is due right after Megan in August!) After, me and the girls went and got pedicures and they got us right in! It's been a fun girls day! Later on we went to go see the movie Michael with the family. (A movie about the life of Michael Jackson and his music.) It has definitely been a super fun day!

We Have a New Member of Our Family! (Leo)

Bill and I decided to replace the Suburban this week after Jim recommended we do. It's making some funny noises and after 108,000 miles we figured it was time--before it needed a new tranny or something expensive. It was a great car for us and we loved it a lot! We decided to get a new car and have been test driving all week to do our homework. We liked the Lexus TX hybrid the best. It has 3 rows, but the most headroom and space in the back for when our tall sons in law and adult children ride with us! We tested a lot of vehicles and liked this one overall the best and taking everything into consideration. It was a time consuming process!!! (Especially the buying part!) But he's a nice ride-- welcoming "Leo" into our family! We took him over to Brooke and Ben's and then to Megan and Todd's houses after the long purchasing process. Ben especially loved the car! He kept ooing and awing over all the features! It's going to be a great car!

A Visitor...

...of the slithering kind! This big guy came to check things out today and stuck around for a while in the shade of our patio...just hung out on the ledge of our basement and ground level floor! He's a good snake-- a gopher snake. He will eat rattlers and scorpions so he's nice to have around. I just wish he didn't look so menacing! I mean that face-- gives me the creepies!
