This morning we had a leisure breakfast at the B and
B. (The first picture below is of our room at the Bed and Breakfast with the offending fireplace!! Hahahaha!) It was a really nice hot breakfast with eggs. We drove through the scenic Kancamagus Highway and listened to a guided tour on an app Robin had of the
history of the area. It was really interesting and we saw REALLY
beautiful country! It was raining almost the whole way through the
mountain pass, so we didn’t see the tops of the mountains due to the fog and
clouds, but it was gorgeous! We drove to Vermont and visited Bragg Maple
Syrup Sugar House and took a tour where we learned all about the process of
making maple syrup. There’s a reason why the real stuff is so
expensive. It is quite the process! After, we shopped in their gift
shop and I got some maple syrup to take home in a couple of big jugs. It was fun to poke around and look in this country store style gift shop! After that tour we drove to the Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream factory in Waterbury, VT, where it’s
made, but the tours were closed due to the virus and it was a 45 min. wait to
get ice cream, so we voted to nix that. It was cold and drizzly and we didn't want to wait in that weather! We walked around their “Flavor
Graveyard” though, and saw the gravestones of all their “retired” flavors.
It was still wet and lightly raining… We arrived at our hotel in
Burlington, Vermont later on and had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings… I’d never
eaten there before and it was pretty good food. It was a bigger town and it
just sounded good to us. Tired but still had energy for a game of Shanghai Rummy-- I won!
