Christmas & Conference :) (Brooke's Letter)

10.05.2020

Heyhi friends & family!

Ok wow such a good week! And it's all because of this beautiful gospel and amazing work!

Hehe ok so we started listening to Christmas music on October 1 :)

Plus it literally felt like Christmas because of GENERAL CONFERENCE!!! :) Our stake set something up for all the missionaries in the stake (50 missionaries) to watch conference together AND they provided 4 MEALS for us across both days! It was so so kind of them and we definitely appreciated it! Plus General Conference was literally AMAZING!! I literally felt like they were talking to me and got answers to my questions! It's so so neat and they really are called of God to help us!

Okay also I just gotta plug it in here that I was matching with President Nelson for the Saturday Morning session. We were wearing the same disposable face masks and I gotta say I've never been more proud to wear a face mask in my life. :)

We realized this week that Sister Moeck & my half birthdays are coming up & then we realized that those are the only "birthdays" we would all get to celebrate together and Sister Norton needed one so we made it her birthday on Tuesday! Hehe so fun!

We found someone that we used to teach way back when I first got here and she remembers so much and is so excited to learn! I love it when we find people again!!

We were talking to one of our friends this week and she was super struggling and having a rough time and the whole call I just felt so lost in how to help her but I knew we needed to get her into the Book of Mormon. So the whole time I was just trying to figure out how to best do that and then the opportunity came! She jokingly said she wanted to shave her head and didn't know if she should lol and I was like "Let's flip and point for it!" and that got her really excited! Then she ran to get her Book of Mormon and I know just having that book in her hands strengthens her! It is powerful! Just so you know she got a HILARIOUS answer to her question--oh boy words can't describe it! But after that we were able to talk some more and found some serious answers and serious ways to help her moving forward! It was just so cool to see how that lesson moved!

OK also another one of our friends has been struggling for so long. We have been praying so hard so that she can have doors open in her life and this week that prayer was answered in such an unexpected way: through more trial/trials. Literally everyday she has had something super hard happen to her. It is amazing to see blessings in disguise but also so hard to watch the hard things happen! God is definitely looking out for her and making her strong. I know that and I am excited to see who she becomes :)

One of our other friends we are teaching we weren't super sure if she wanted to keep meeting with us and we were trying to find what she needed and then yesterday we had a lesson and she told us that she told her friend about us and that we could teach her too and read the Book of Mormon with her! Then she added her to the call and we had a little get to know you. Then the one we're teaching was like, "We should all go to church next week!" YES YES YES!!

OK some thoughts on my brain today: my brain. Lol ok so pday is a crazy day. We gotta get all our things done and I gotta prep for college and things and oh boy, I feel like my brain just doesn't work like that anymore! It feels like I keep hitting the full capacity and then my brain just gets foggy and it's like "naw" we can't think anymore. Kinda frustrating but I'm thinking about it and it's so true. So often in our lives we hit these walls where it's like, "I can't do it but I'm trying but I just can't" and that's when we turn to God and He EXPANDS OUR HORIZONS and ENLARGES OUR CAPACTIY!

Well I love you all! Have a great week FULL of God's love! :)

Love, Sister Freeman ဖီပြံဝါ

hello
Hello! I’m Mindy. I love Spring and Fall weather, the BYU Cougars, reading, hiking and of course…my family! I LOVE being with them doing just about anything…but usually attending one of their games or just hanging out!
