Wowza we've gone to so many devotionals and firesides this last week at the MTC and it has been so enlightening and uplifting! At the devotional last week, we started by singing "Families Can Be Together Forever" and I felt so much love for my family and felt the spirit so strong showing me how important families are and how important it is for everyone to know:
"Families can be together forever
Through Heav’nly Father’s plan.
I always want to be with my own family,
And the Lord has shown me how I can.
The Lord has shown me how I can."
I know that we are all a part of Heavenly Father's family and that he loves us! I had a really cool experience this week in our last lesson with Josh and then in our last lesson with Foster as well. We had Josh say the closing prayer and His prayer was so simple yet so powerful as he turned to God for help. As he was praying I felt so much LOVE for him from God which came through the Spirit and it was strong. After the lesson my companion told me the same thing happened to her during his prayer which just showed me that the Spirit really was there and really was testifying of God's love for His children! A very similar thing happened with Foster where the Spirit helped me see her as God sees her and feel that love for her so easily and so strongly! God is very aware of all of His children, even if at times we don't see it.
The 4th of July was super fun! We had a fiesta and Brother Shibuta got to hit this teeny tiny pinata that Sister Wright brought (BTW Bro. Shibuta proposed and she said yes!) and we got to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks from one of the floors of our building so it was all around so fun!
I say this every time but Sundays are the best here! A great quote from one of our meetings, "You might be a great sinner, but Christ is a better Savior." You are NEVER out of the Savior's reach! I also love a quote from President Nelson that says something like, "JOY comes from and because of Him (our Savior)." There was a talk given at the Mission Conference on Sunday all about JOY and I LOVED it :)
Also, I studied the lyrics of the hymn "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief" and they gave me a lot of neat insights personal to me as to how I can be better and I hope all of you will read them as well and see what you find :) There was so much more on Sunday but those were some of the highlights!
I have also been super touched this week by the story of Enoch. He felt weak and unqualified for the life that the Lord had planned for Him. In Moses 6 verses 32-34, the Lord responds to these concerns and these words can apply to all of us in all of our different circumstances. Christ is here for everyone and He will buoy us up when we need Him! Christ is with us ALWAYS! He will help us accomplish the plans that God has for us and He will help us Endure to the End until those plans are accomplished!
My challenge this week is for everyone who has a Patriarchal blessing to take 20 minutes to read it asking yourself, "How does God see me?" and "What is His big picture vision for me?" Then set goals to become that!
Some funny things haha :)
OH BOY where to begin?
Welp haha soccer is like our favorite exercise time activity. We all just giggle literally the whole time and it is so fun. So we were playing one last game before our New York sisters left and I was on the ground 99% of the time lol. At one point I was running with the ball and then Sister Reeves tripped me and I almost fell but recovered and then bam! Sister Clark tripped me and I couldn't recover so I LITERALLY face planted like full on face to the floor sliding across the grass! It was really funny though hahaha! And THEN (it gets better) I was "defending" our goal and the ball came toward me so I kicked it but somehow I kicked it in the direction of our goal and then I went to save it but I tripped over the ball making it go into the goal (it gets worse) and I tripped into the goal (still worse) and knocked the goal over to the point that I am on the ground on the other side of where the goal was and it is on top of me with me all tangled in the net! WE ALL DIED LAUGHING. (And still worse) All of the elders on the field (including our own) saw the whole thing and were also dying laughing. WHAT A TIME. It was so funny hahaha!
This experience here at the MTC has been so fun and I love my district so much! I know God is in the fabric of our lives and has a plan and purpose for all of us and that the people we meet and know are not in our lives by coincidence!
