A HUGE all around theme of this week was love but in many different ways!
The MTC feels like it was YEARS ago but my last couple days at the MTC were SO good! My last devotional was all about LOVE. Elder Anderson talked about how the first and second great commandments are to love God and love your neighbor. Then he talked about how Christ said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." So do we love Him? Do we keep His commandments? He went on to say that if we love Him, we will be obedient. If we love Him, we will want to work hard and give Him our all. If we love Him, we will be reverent toward Him and respect Him. So the question is not should I do this or that. The question is whether we love God and His Son Jesus Christ enough. Toward the end of the devotional he showed a video from one of Elder Hollands talks which I couldn't find but this is the talk:

SO GOOD.
So that was the end of my MTC experience and then I got on a plane the next day and headed to Minnesota! From that point on it has been a crazy ride!
The first day was really tough for many reasons and I cried a lot but there were also a lot of really good moments too! I got to meet my trainer! She is from the Philippines and has been here for 15 months! She has had quite a crazy and hard life and I look up to her a lot. It is interesting because she is a Sister Training Leader but I am brand new so that will be a little crazy.
Our apartment is FREEZING. Haha we can't turn it up so it is basically winter in there! But it is funny because, since we cover two areas, we have to stay at members houses and this week we will be staying in places outside of our apartment more than we will stay in our apartment! Haha that's not stressful at all! (Lol *sarcasm) But I am getting used to it!
Like I said, the first couple of days were really rough. I knew God was there for me and helping me through but I still felt a little alone and a little scared because everything was just so unfamiliar! THEN, we went to church on Sunday and IT FELT LIKE HOME. Holy moly I can't even describe how good it felt! I have noticed this a lot so far that this gospel IS Christ's gospel and it is part of God's plan and it is true! It is so familiar and homey because it is where They are! I know that is true! I have felt their LOVE :)
I have also grown to absolutely LOVE Minnesota! I love the weather and I love the VIEWS. It is so pretty here and so green! (For all you Arizonans that means there are trees and bushes and grass everywhere lol, not just dirt and twigs with leaves haha.) I also really love the people! THEY ARE SO MINNESOTA NICE haha! I love hearing their stories and getting to know them :)
My mission is the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission (MMM) and President Barney likes to call it the Mission of Many Miracles or Many Mighty Miracles! I have already seen that to be true and I know that God is directing and protecting us and that Christ is at the head of His church!
A funny thing:
I was the fastest TIWI card to ever be handed out haha! (A TIWI card is like our missionary driver license kind of.) Normally the trainer drives but Sister Peñaflor doesn't have a license so I get to drive! It is stressful and our car has been having a ton of problems but a funny thing is that I was trying to figure out how to open the gas thingy but ended up opening the hood without realizing so we drove all day with it open and didn't notice it was open until we were driving at 70 mph and it was bouncing up and down... yikes it was a little scary but I felt really dumb and we laughed it off later haha.
There has been a lot of stress and missions are very hard but I know that God is over it all and He is watching out for us and helping us and I am so grateful for that! I love you all and I hope you have a great week!
P.S. Happy late birthday to Ben and Sky! I love you guys!
Love, Sister Freeman
