We were up at 6am this morning to get the boat ready and hooked up to leave by 7am for Gunnison Bend Reservoir (The Delta Reservoir) We had a fun day boating there, but it was stressful in a lot of ways-- 1. There were too many people and little kids that wanted to ride and play on the boat for the amount of time we had (we really needed another couple of boats for the size of the Freeman Family!) 2. The lake was REALLY shallow and we kept churning up mud (the bottom of the reservoir is made of clay) We were worried about the depth and having enough water to not only operate the boat, but to be able to weight the boat down enough for wake surfing! Many didn't get a chance to surf, etc., but many were able to learn! Below is a picture of Jed first learning to do it! The teenagers had a lot of fun today! After, we had them all help clean up and wipe down the boat.
After we finished loading the boat, we headed over the Intermountain Power Plant Recreation Center near the lake, for dinner and activities. It is a really fun place! They had everything from a basketball/Volleyball court to Racquetball, to Pool and Shuffle board and it's all indoors! Everyone had a lot of fun! We had really good pizza and salad for dinner that Lowry's organized and headed up for everyone. It tasted SO good after a long day at the lake and not eating anything! (We had snacks and water and that was about it!) We played and visited until about 10pm and made it back to Jenell's by 11:30. We got lost several times today-- and every single time, Bill said he knew where he was going! Frustrating when you're tired-- no exhausted!
I feel like I missed most of the reunion today, because we were on the boat all day and missed all the visiting and fun that was going on on the shore. I enjoyed the IPP because I finally got to relax and just visit and enjoy the company there. We will never bring out boat up ever again! This was definitely a one time thing. If people want to play on our boat, they have to come to our territory here in AZ!!! (Especially on a lake that isn't deep enough!) No more catering! I-15 is a two way road! I think these Freeman's forget that! Hahahaha!
(NOTE: the smudges on Katelyn's face is the chalk for the Pool Table...cousins were messing around.)
