It's been another busy week & boy it just flew by!
Highlights:
> We were making a video this week & at one point my video editor wasn't working & I tried to upload a video literally 20 times & I was getting a little frustrated haha but I said a prayer & it was a surprisingly sincere & meaningful prayer for something so trivial but I basically just said that I knew God could create worlds & move mountains & so certainly He could make this video editor work & then... IT DID! I know prayer is powerful & when we pray with faith & tell God what we know & that we believe, He can perform miracles in our lives!
> I also felt how important & powerful it is to pray for others this week! I've started a little prayer role that I carry around with me & it has all the names of the people we are teaching & the members we work with & friends & family from back home & when I am bored I will pray for each of the people by name. Well this week, I have felt a lot of power in that exercise & it is an amazing thing to talk with someone & hear that they are struggling & be able to genuinely say, "I will pray for you" & mean it & do it! I'm a very forgetful person so normally I would just forget but writing it down has really helped me! And it was cool this week, we were talking to a member & we told her that we pray for her every day & it almost brought her to tears she was so happy to hear that! Prayer is powerful!
> I don't know if many of you remember this from my first couple months on my mission but I used to see sunflowers EVERYWHERE! And they kind of became a symbol for me of God's hand in my life & His love & encouragement! Well that kind of faded as I came to the cities & I didn't realize that I hadn't seen a sunflower in a while until we saw one this week! There it was just growing in the middle of downtown St. Paul!
> OK ahah I got a story... So I talked last week about how I am running with Sister Marshall in the mornings & that's been going great other than the fact that we are dying every time haha but we feel great afterward! Anyway... So one day this week we go out in the morning & we're like "Oh it's sprinkling no biggie" yeah & then it POURED! We were literally DRENCHED haha & Sister Marshall did some freestyle in a puddle! It was a lot of rain! But that was super fun & stuff & then we came home & had to dry our shoes & stuff so we put them in our apartment complex dryer... Then we forgot about them until that night & they lock the laundry room at night so I was in quite the dilemma because I didn't have shoes to run. Ok so believe me that every part of me wanted to take this as an excuse & run (or not run rather) but I had made a goal & I didn't want to let myself down or let Sister Marshall down so quitting wasn't an option haha soooo I decided I could run in some little wedge boots that had pretty good support. So that night I said a prayer & asked Heavenly Father to either bless the laundry room to be open early tomorrow or bless my feet to be able to run in these shoes & not be harmed & I really felt like He was so proud of me for trying my best & giving Him my all! Come next morning, the laundry room wasn't open so I ran in the boots! Haha so we go to meet up with the Sisters & Sister Marshall looks at my feet & says "You're running in heels?!" Haha it wasn't too bad & God blessed my feet so all is well! I've also learned from all this running that we can do more than we think we can! Every single morning we feel like we are gonna die or that our legs are gonna kick out but we do our goal! We CAN do more than we think we can! And once we push past that wall, it feels so good to know that we are stronger than we thought! And that's how God sees us in everything we do!
> We got to go visit a member this week & she has the CUTEST kids! They say so many funny quotes but one of my favorites was the little toddler's "I'm cupe! " It's true! He's so cute!
> We played a "newly weds" game in District Council to see how well we know our companions & Sister Norton & I KILLED the game! We only got 2 wrong! Love my comp :)
> Ok I have another funny story that I won't go into too much detail on but we were visiting a member at the door of her apartment & then her toddler all of a sudden just starts to book it away & I knew she couldn't run after him & we can't pick kids up so what did I do? In the spur of the moment? I tripped him. Yep I tripped him for the greater good! To slow him down & it worked & he wasn't harmed at all! It was carpet so I think my brain knew he wouldn't get hurt but I can't believe I tripped a toddler!
> We read the Book of Mormon with one of our friends & asked what she thought when we finished the chapter & she said "It was too short!" Boy I love reading with her!
> We had interviews with President Richardson this week! Wow love him so much!
Wow this email is a long one today so sorry about that but I did just want to share one more thought that a missionary pointed out this week! She talked about Nephi when he was commanded to build the ship & said "I will go & do!" Classic verse right? But she pointed out something I've never thought of before & that is that God gives us "individualized commandments." So we all get the general commandments to not kill & be nice & stuff but then God will give us commandments specific to us & our lives like for Nephi, to build a boat! It is so important for us to have an "I will go & do" kind of attitude for ALL the commandments we are given including our individual tasks that God needs us specifically to do! What are some individual commandments that God has maybe given to you? Just food for thought! Anyway I love you all very much & am PRAYING FOR YOU! If you have things you'd like me to add to my prayer role shoot me an email & I'd be more than happy to add it!
Have a grrrrrreat week!
