Jordan's Going Away/Early Birthday Party...

This afternoon Allison and Jordan came over for a BBQ! We made the BEST hamburgers ever and I made lots of veggies/fruit to go with it—corn, cheesy zucchini, and a cut up watermelon, of course. We put perfect avocado slices on the burgers too! Jordan’s leaving to go back to Virginia. He really wanted to get a job as a firefighter out here, but wasn’t able to find one. He was able to get his job back with the dept. out in Virginia where he was working before. He really wanted to stay out here. He wants to meet an LDS girl and marry and settle down. The chances of that are so much slimmer in VA. He’s a good guy and I’m sad that he’s leaving! It was fun to take him out on the boat—he’s a lot of fun! (Plus, he always folded the ropes so perfectly and helped clean the boat so it sparkled! All that fireman experience—hahaha! He’s used to spit shining those big fire trucks and coiling perfectly those huge hoses!) It’s his birthday next month and Allison won’t be there, so she made a cake and we celebrated it tonight! Katelyn had to go in to work, but the rest of us played Shanghai Rummy (which I won by a landslide-- I went out the first 4 hand and on the 4th hand I caught everybody!) and then Code Names. After, we watched a WWII movie. It was a fun night! It’s so nice to have people over and socialize!  Good luck to you Jordan!  We wish you the best out in Virginia!
