Last night before bedtime, Katelyn had to take Valium to prep for her wisdom teeth coming out today. She was so loopy and happy! She was skipping around the house! I really should’ve taken video of it! She kept saying how relaxed she was and how carefree she felt! She was so drugged up!
This morning when we woke up and she had to take another one. She was feeling REALLY good before the surgery! I waited outside while she was in surgery because they don’t let you wait inside right now with the virus. I just sat in the covered parking reading my scriptures while I waited… it was actually kinda nice because it was quiet and I just ran the car with the A/C on! It was only an hour and the surgery only lasted 45 min including recovery time, so it wasn’t bad at all! She got all 4 of her wisdom teeth out, too. She asked if she could keep her teeth and they said no problem! They were taped to her shirt in a little baggie when she came out of surgery. Hahaha! They all came out intact with roots and all! They wheeled her out to my car and she had her mask on but I could tell she had a super big smile on her face, and she was waving to me and saying “Hi Mom!” I can’t believe what a chatter box she was – THE WHOLE WAY HOME!! (And at home too!) The nurse told her to stop talking because it makes the sockets bleed more when you do, but she would NOT STOP!! … crazy! Those drugs are real! She kept telling me how much she loved me and her sisters too, but she was mad that they all weren’t there! Hahaha! She called them bums for not being here on the video! Hahaha! It was funny some of the things she said! She spent the rest of the day laying on the couch and eating soft foods and taking pain killers and icing her cheeks! The drugs started to wear off around 2pm and then she started to really hurt. The pain killers helped though. She took it all in stride. She loved that she could eat all the Mac N Cheese, mashed potatoes, ice cream, yogurt, applesauce, stuffing, scrambled eggs, jello and pudding that she wanted!!! (And she did!!) And she rested a lot too. I took care of her all day while we watched a series on TV we’ve been watching together. I'm glad the surgery was easy and that they were able to get her teeth out whole. They're pretty cool looking! The first picture below is before the surgery when she was really happy!
