Unite Fitness Retreat-- Day 3
9.08.2020

A really cold and windy storm came through overnight so we had to do our bootcamp indoors at the gym. It is such a nice gym and facility-- I really like it! We started out our day in the Unite room with our shakes and then walked (a very chilly 42 degrees!) up to the gym. The morning workouts kicked our butts AGAIN!! These trainers are awesome! My other favorite trainer is Trish! She's awesome and so upbeat and positive. I like the way she explains things and gave us a really good lesson on nutrition during our morning snack time. She talked about the importance of eating a balance of good carbs, protein and good fats to stay in the optimal zone for hunger. She talked about hyper and hypoglycemia and instead of spiking to hyper with sugar and crashing to hypo by not eating, we can stay in an optimal range where we feel satisfied. All the workouts were HARD today! But it feels great when we finish-- and we do all of them! After lunch we did a workout with Holli in the swimming pool-- water aerobics! She was a cute and lively trainer and made it fun! It was really cold outside and there is a lot of damage from the storm--trees knocked down and debris everywhere, so I think the hike they were taking us on was closed. It was fun in the pool, after I got warmed up! The water was kind of cold! Mobility class was Restorative Yoga taught by Ashley. She's so good too! I really like her! The slow stretching movements felt really good and weren't too difficult. Dinner was yummy and we crashed early again tonight after watching a little bit of TV... Shark Tank!
