Unite Fitness Retreat-- Day 5
9.10.2020

Bootcamp this morning was THE HARDEST activity the WHOLE week!! It was called (and I must say very benignly-- it doesn't sound that hard...) the 100 Rep Challenge and Bill and I were supposed to complete 8 stations in 50 minutes but we only got to FOUR of them!!!! It kicked our butts!! This was THE ONLY activity that we did not finish the entire week! For cardio we did Mount Kilimanjaro on the tread mill... I ROCKED THIS ONE!! (I always rock the cardio stuff!) So for the first 30 minutes at 1 minute intervals you increase the incline by .5% and by 30 minutes you should be at a 30% incline. You were supposed to go backwards down to flat at the same rate, but I understood the trainer to say that you keep it at the 30% incline. So I did this for the full hour we were on the treadmills. It was hard but not impossible for me. I felt really good afterward! Later on we went on a field trip to go boxing! This is something I've NEVER done! It was fun but boy was it high speed with lots of cardio during the rounds and floor stretching and exercises in between rounds! I can see why Katelyn likes it so much! During lunch Brooke, the dietitian talked to us about our gut health and why it's so important to keep it healthy. I'm learning SO MUCH from her! We went on a gorgeous hike this afternoon-- not sure where it was but the schedule called it Rattlesnake Gulch. About halfway through the hike though, I pulled my right quad muscle accidentally sliding down part of the trail. It was so sore, I was almost afraid to walk on it. I made it back though. By the end of the day it was feeling a lot better after I heated it and applied some muscle stuff. Later, we had a cooking class by cute Yvonne! I learned so many great techniques and ideas from her-- she's so dang cute! Love her!! Another early night for Bill and I!
