Unite Fitness Retreat-- Day 6
9.11.2020

Another full day today!! I had my exit interview early this morning where Trish took my health assessment again. It showed that I lost 3 pounds and even more exciting 3% body fat! That is crazy! I wasn’t doing it to lose weight, but the body fat % was nice! We burned a lot of energy and fat this week!! My main goals going in were to strengthen my core and increase my flexibility (I have really bad flexibility), but I got so much more out of it than that! Right after shakes, we headed to our Capital Hill challenge in the vans. Kelley found this sign at the City Creek Park where we started. We all had to hike up this really steep hill up and around the Utah State Capital building. It was hard, but I shine at cardio, so I did really good. I ran on all the level parts of the hike, but it got steep really fast. I was the first to make it to the finish line, a few blocks north of the Capital building. My time was 19.52. Bill made great time and finished in the middle of the pack. Matt, one of my favorite trainers is in the picture of him finishing with the timer. Jay, Sheri and I decided to walk down to the gym after everyone finished. It was actually a really nice morning for a walk and it was all downhill! Easy! It felt good to just walk after hiking so hard up that hill! We passed the Capital on the way back down and I also saw some really cute homes! After a yummy breakfast that tasted so good after burning so many calories, we did our Friday Fitness Challenge, which I can't remember exactly what is was... Then we did a really fun game called the Card Game. This would be fun to do as a family. How many reps you did depended on the card you drew. By the end, I think I had like almost 200 reps on 4 different activities that were each assigned a suit. I had my exit interview with Tricia and got some good information from her on what to do when I go home. After lunch, Brooke came again to discuss grocery shopping and how to read labels and some easy food to buy to stick to the life style changes we're trying to make. This afternoon we got to go play Pickleball! It was so much fun!! Kelley and I were a team against Bill and Kyle-- one of the new trainers who is REALLY good at it! They won, but the 2nd game Bill and Jay were a team and we kept up! They still won, but we had almost as many points. It was a really fun afternoon! Later on we went to our mobility class with Brad and learned chair and floor stretches to do at the office, for people who sit in chairs all day. We got a really nice stretch and things feel good in my body. I almost wish I was staying another week, because I'm starting to hit my stride and the soreness isn't so bad and I could really get far in another week... but I need to get home to the girls. Another amazing dinner and BED!!!!
