It's been a fun week!
- 3 new friends
- 2 exchanges
- 1 Early Morning Seminary
- so many good lessons
- & lots of miracles! :)
A somewhat hard lesson that I finally learned (or at least started learning) this week is how God NEEDS us to give Him our will. He needs us to be His hands and do His work. I've started doing that a little more and oh my He has shown me miracles! I've only scratched the surface I think but I am learning to follow promptings and just go for it, trusting in God!
- we were in a lesson with a member this week and another person came in the room and sat down kind of just listening. I got a really strong prompting to talk to her and even specific impressions of what to say came to my mind. It took a long time but I finally just went for it and started talking to her and now we are teaching her! Apparently Sister Rick's new her and has been wanting to teach her for a long time and was so proud of me for going for it! At the same time, I definitely felt God helping me with the language as I just trusted in Him and put myself out there to just be His hands!
- for one of the exchanges this week, I had to take over the area for a day! Haha may not seem like much but let me tell you I was a little nervous! But I went for it and it went well! The whole day, every lesson, I felt so guided and I felt like we were receiving a lot of inspiration and we had some really amazing lessons! It came time to go finding which I was THE MOST terrified for haha and it WASN'T TOO BAD! My testimony has definitely grown that if we step outside of our comfort zone for something that God wants us to do, He will help us and guide our efforts! He will never leave us to do it alone! Kind of reminds me of the scripture in the Book of Mormon:
"I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them" (1 Nephi 3:7)
I know that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is true! I know it is true for so many different reasons but the most important and most simple reason is because I know God loves us and wants the best for us and wants pure joy for us and that is what this gospel has given to me! I absolutely love being a missionary and I am learning so much more than I ever knew I would! I am so happy to be a part of this work and to meet all of the people I have met and will meet! I love and miss you all and pray that you will feel of God's love today and every day!
