Get SWOLE through Jesus Christ! (Katelyn's Letter)

7.25.2022

Hey y'alllll!

I'm already in my second transfer in good old dagum South Carolina!!! I'm staying in Anderson with my trainer Sister Thompson and it's a good time!!! I've realized this week just how much I HATE saying goodbyes haha but I'd rather them be hard than easy! Anyway I'm super hyped for this transfer-- its gonna be a good one!!!

Seeds of Faith
I watched a video this week which I highly recommend called "Your Great Adventure: Overcoming Life's Obstacles".  It's a story about a guy who trains for an ultra marathon (100 miles through the desert) and I really like this quote from it: *Life's not about doing things perfectly, it's about doing things intentionally* I think intention and perfection can easily get mixed up sometimes! I've realized I beat myself up when things don't go the way I expect when really if I saw that my intentions were good I could trust that God ALWAYS makes up the difference! Let Him do that for you!

*INVITATION*
Ponder those things that you have been hard on yourself for and look at your intentions. If they aren't good, strive to include Jesus Christ in changing them. If they are good, strive to include Jesus Christ in helping you let go of the ultra high expectations you are putting on yourself! I promise as you do this and use the Atonement to carry your burdens, that you will feel more free and see yourself in a more divine and beautiful way!

Pockets of Fun
-We are trying to eat more protein 'cuz we are weight lifting now so Toom, Tommy, and I ate this NASTY protein drink and literally gagged!
-BUGS: I got attacked by a huge sicada one morning and then the next morning almost ran into a huge spider and it's web! (I got pics don't worry.)
-Our AC is icing over again. So of course we tried to chisel the ice off with a knife (didn't work at all) and then vacuum it and even thought of putting a candle under it before reading the big warning sign to not use electricity or flame in the AC so yeah, we could have died heehee.
-Tom got sprayed opening the door while the guy was power washing the alleyway hahaha!
-GUYS SO I'M DESIGNATED DRIVER NOW so one day I wind up driving behind this older hippy looking guy driving his motorcycle at 20 MPH in a 45 MPH ZONE. So I end up being the first in a line of TEN cars including a SEMI TRUCK behind this guy chilling on his janky motorcycle. Passing him was the most stressful/hilarious moment of my life haha!

Gratitude
-MIRACLES: They really do happen. Guys we've been struggling to find Hal a ride to church. So we prayed with him for God to provide a way for him to get to church. Saturday evening we still hadn't found a ride so we texted him that he wasn't gonna be able to come. THEN come Sunday and we walk in to see him THERE!!! He miraculously found a ride and we were SO HAPPY he made it to church!!
-Our bodies and the amazing things they can do!
-People's love and willingness to talk about Jesus Christ.
-Good jokes (send me any y'all got!)

Hello! I’m Mindy. I love Spring and Fall weather, the BYU Cougars, reading, hiking and of course…my family! I LOVE being with them doing just about anything…but usually attending one of their games or just hanging out!
