Luke's First Trip to the Aqarium!
7.30.2022
Megan and Todd took Luke to the Aquarium and apparently he absolutely LOVED it!! I even see that he's wearing an outfit with cute little fishies and other sealife on it!! A rain storm hit on their way to the car and they all got soaked!! Looks like so much fun!!
TRUSSES!!!
They started putting up the trusses today! This is so amazing because the shape of the house is starting to form with the roofline! Bill took the first picture in the morning and the other two in the afternoon-- they'd gotten so much done in just one day!
More Plywood Walls... and TRUSSES Were Delivered!!
7.28.2022
There was more work done on the plywood walls and the first load of trusses were delivered! This is so very exciting!! Soon we'll have a ROOF over our heads! Hahaha!!!
Lukey Bear and Grandma!
I watched Luke today and he was so much FUN!! He is so happy and playful. He was content on my lap for quite a while while I entertained him with "pat a cake", "this little piggy" etc. He was even cuddly!! (That never happens anymore!) I am so blessed to live near this little guy and his parents!
Luke's New Clothes!
7.27.2022
Luke's clothes are now the next size up... he's in size 12 months now!!! Here's some cute pics of one of the new outfits...
...and MORE Birthday Fun!
Sweet Megan and Brooke treated me to a birthday breakfast this morning! I was completely not expecting this because they'd done such a great job treating me and celebrating it yesterday!!! We went to First Watch and the food was really good! I got bacon, scrambled eggs, a blueberry pancake and a yummy watermelon, pineapple and lime with mint drink. Everybody tried interesting things and we sampled each others meals and everything was GOOD! I definitely want to go there again! We enjoyed a nice visit as we ate and everyone around us was playing with Luke-- he's such a happy kid and a waitress even commented on how cute he is. Yes-- we know!! He smiles so cute at everyone! What a fun morning!
What a FUN Birthday!!!
7.26.2022
Today was so much fun! I should have a birthday more often! Hahaha! Jamie was the first one to show up with my favorite drink and a sugar cookie from Twisted Sugar... then Brooke surprised me with QT... then Megan came about 10 minutes after that with a Polar Pop! Oh boy!! It's fun because I knew Megan was up to something because we'd just gone to Costco and I figured out she was going to bring me one, so when my sweet friend Jamie showed up with one I was thinking "Oh boy! Megan's gonna bring me one of these-- how am I going to drink them both???" THEN Brooke showed up after work with one unbeknownst to everyone else! This was way too funny! Megan also went to Mimi's and got me one of their yummy bran muffins-- that sweet girl ran all over with a baby getting me these things! So the three drinks literally showed up within 30 minutes of each other! We did a taste test and we all thought the Polar Pop and QT were better than the Twisted Sugar, but to be fair, I think it was a little flat by the time we did the taste test. Good thing I had Megan and Brooke there to help me drink them! Cute little Luke was just in the background looking on at crazy Grandma's drinks! So stinkin' cute!! The three of us played a game of Shanghai Rummy and I WON!! Yay!!!
Brooke and I then headed over to do a special birthday session at the temple. It was just the perfect day to be there! We both really enjoyed the endowment session! We got a couple selfies before and after in front of the temple... (and one on the way to the temple in the car!)
We drove home and changed and headed over to Megan's house where Dad, Todd and Megan were busy finishing a yummy birthday dinner for me. Instead of going out, I just wanted a yummy homecooked meal. I requested halibut and Bill made some really yummy halibut PLUS some amazing grilled shrimp, garlic green beans (my favorite), and a yummy melon salad with mangos and bananas. It all tasted soooo good. Since my dishwasher is STILL broken (it was supposed to be fixed yesterday), we opted to eat at Megan's house... which works really well with Luke, so he can go to bed when he needs to. After dinner we were all so full that we decided to watch a movie while our food settled before eating cake. We watched this really old movie with Sandra Bullock in it called Premonition. It was super weird and hard to figure out and we spent the entire movie trying to understand what was going on... we all didn't like it! But it kept our attention! After the movie we had angel food cake that Megan had made and it was soooo good! She did such a great job. Then I opened my presents, which I already knew what they were because Todd bought them and hid them at our house and I found them. He hid them in plain sight by my craft armoire so I totally found them! I got a new computer (a lap top!), a new monitor and a new keyboard. I really needed one... my computer is so old and starting to have a lot of issues that have made it harder and harder to use. It was such a fun day-- I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my 53rd birthday. Thought about mom and knew she was celebrating with me from heaven!
