It was super neat to attend the DC temple this morning!! Dad, Megan and I did a session while McKenzie, Brooke and Katelyn did baptisms. What a beautiful building. This Spring it will be closed for a couple of years for major renovations! It was fun to be able to go-- last time we were in DC we got lost and couldn't find it, so it was fun to finally be able to see it and go inside! Megan knows her way there she said, "with my eyes closed!". We found it this time! There was a sweet spirit in our session and the girls enjoyed their baptisms. We got LOTS of pictures in front of the temple to document our day there! It was cold and snow was falling, but not sticking. We were super cold! We drove back to our hotel and changed and took the metro back to the city and saw the Natural History Museum and the American History Museum... on Megan's terms! We dubbed her the Nazi Tour Guide because she literally gave us about 15 minutes per museum! Ugh!! (She had 18 months to see it all!) Katelyn was super upset that we couldn't stay longer at the Natural History Museum and I was super upset that we couldn't stay longer at the American History Museum. It was our last day, too! But, the Johnson's finally got back with Megan and could meet, so we left the city and went back to our hotel to get the car to drive out to the mission home in Gaithersburg. It was so fun to meet them and visit about all sorts of things-- mainly missionary work. They wanted to know who she was dating, so she happily updated them about that. They are super neat! I can see why she loves them so much! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. After, we went and got some dinner at a pizza joint (reminded me of Mod's here) and then ended the day at the VC, so we could really see the lights this time. The lights are gorgeous! I've never seen that many different colors before! My favorite were the dark and light teal colors!! It was really cold walking around! It felt good to go inside the VC!! Megan got to talk to a lot more people tonight and saw Sister Greenhalg as well. I was able to meet the Ferrin's-- who are the VC Directors there right now. Everyone LOVES Megan and says what a great missionary she was! Well, it was our last day in DC! I'm kind of sad to go home. We have all thoroughly enjoyed our time is this amazing and beautiful city! Megan is so blessed to have served here in this mission! It was fun to go back with her and see so many people that she loved and taught! Good bye DC!!!!
