We went to the DC 2nd YSA Ward for church today! Megan had served for most of her mission in this ward. It was at the Bishop's house because there weren't that many people so they decided to make it cozier. It was at the Folger's house and it was gorgeous! It was decked out with Christmas decorations and looked like it was from a magazine. I love the traditional Colonial style homes that are in this area! Everything is so beautiful! We saw Mary Clare Callahan and her Mom Maurine! Megan's old companion Sister Haertling and her companion are in this ward, and so were there as well. It was so much fun for Megan to see her as she was one of her favorite companions! It was fun to see people I actually know too! I regret so much that we didn't get any pictures though! Dang! It was a really simple Sacrament Meeting with just 2 speakers only. After, though, the Bishop's wife had a brunch with a lot of good food. After, we headed to the airport via the Metro, to pick up our Dodge Truck-- the only thing we could find that would fit 6 of us! (We Ubered to the Folger's house and back to the hotel which worked great but just took longer, etc. First time Ubering!) After we got our wheels, we headed to the Visitors' Center, where Megan saw a WHOLE BUNCH of sister missionaries she knew. All the VC sisters were there practicing a program for that evening, so they were all in one place, which worked out nicely for Megan! She had so much fun talking to and hugging all the sisters that she knew and loved so much! We even found her tag that she got to stick on the wall of one of the exhibits. I expected a better tour from Megan of the VC, but she was just too excited to be there and kept seeing people that she knew! After we finished there, we went out to a Christmas Eve dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, which is in the same Mall Complex as our hotel, so we just walked! It was so nice to not have to do ANY cooking or cleanup for that meal! After, we walked back to our hotel-- inside the Mall, so it was warm, and I surprised the girls with Christmas Eve presents. I told them the trip was Christmas, so they weren't expecting anything. They were super excited and VERY hyper! It was hard to calm them down to get a picture! I finally just jumped on top of all of them! Then we watched "It's a Wonderful Life" and didn't get to bed until LATE!
