Today we got up and Robin and I went for a walk along the beach. It was sooo pretty!! Allison went to have her hair and make up done with all the wedding party where Amanda is staying— we met up with her at the vineyard later. Robin and I got ready and went down to Roanoke Island where we toured the area of the Lost Colony… the people they don’t know what happened to that settled here way before Jamestown, which is more commonly known as the first settlement here by the Brittish. This was the late 1500’s v. the 1600’s for Jamestown. We went to the visitors center and saw artifacts and various things they’ve found. They know they were here because Queen Elizabeth sent them and they have records of their travel from England. It’s a pretty interesting mystery. There are several theories as to why they disappeared but they don’t know for sure because there is literally no evidence! It was a beautiful morning and we enjoyed the drive to and from Roanoke Island. Then we drove to the wedding ceremony going back up north in the Outer Banks.
