Change (Brooke's Letter)

6.08.2020

Heyo!
It's been a fun week!

As usual we read the picture Book of Mormon with a bunch of our friends this week! It has been so cool to see our friends really starting to apply it to themselves! At first it was mostly us helping people make connections but this week so many of our friends were applying it to themselves and it was SO COOL!

This week was our last week doing homework help since school came to an end and man am I gonna miss helping Dah Wah with homework! That was always so fun! Haha I think he's wanting to do summer school for fun though so maybe we'll still be able to!

Also Dah Wah is the COOLEST and has been praying and getting his family together and praying with them!! He's so awesome!

Wednesday this week was a day of unfortunate events for Sister Freeman haha! Oh boy it's all kind of a long story but it ends with me getting a "check your speed" while on the phone with our APs because we lost our gas card 😂 oh boy what a day that was! But we look back and laugh am I right?

We had our last Mission Leadership Council and Interviews with President Barney this week! We are definitely going to miss him!

Donated blood for the first time this week! That was a lot of fun and SO many of the people at the donating place wanted to hear about our missions so it was really fun to talk to them about what we do! Oh how we miss being out and about sharing the gospel with the random people we come in contact with! It was also cool because as we were walking down the street to our car we hear someone yell "HEY ARE YOU THE MORMONS?!" and not gonna lie I was super scared for a second because she seemed angry but then we turned around and mustered up some smiles and said yeah! And she was like "I used to meet with you Mormons over in Pine city!" That was my first area! So we said hi and then went on our ways but I hope one day she meets with the missionaries again!

Also funny story from that day... The elders went in to donate blood after us and 2 of them ended up on the floor! One of them passed out and fell down so that was crazy and the other one was feeling a little nauseous so they made him get on the floor before he passed out too! Haha so crazy but they are both fine! Haha we didn't believe it was true until they sent us pictures of them both literally on the floor haha!

OK NOW FOR THE MOST EXCITING NEWS YET!!!
*drumroll*
WE GOT TO TAKE THE SACRAMENT YESTERDAY! Wow it was so nice! Our bishop wanted to be there for us and so he and our district met at the church and we had a little Sacrament Mtg.! It was wonderful!

It was really cool too because earlier this week I had been studying Alma 5 from Come Follow Me (which I think is probably one of my FAVORITE chapters now) but anyway it talks about a "change of heart" and that really stood out to me as I studied and then I randomly studied another article that talked about something similar and how the Sacrament is an opportunity for us to lay those things that we are ready to change about ourselves on the table and move on with our week as new people and so that's what I studied this week and we just happened to get to take the sacrament again! So perfect!

Well this week is the last of the transfer and this next transfer will bring lots of change for our zone and our mission! New missionaries coming from all over the place and a new Mission President! Change is new but it is a good opportunity for good things to happen!

2 quotes I really liked this week:

"We can't direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails... May we choose a positive attitude. "
- President Monson
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way." - Viktor Frankl

I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Love, Sister Freeman ဖီပြံဝါ
