It's been another crazy week! We are safe and doing well despite all the unrest in the cities! It hasn't effected us too much other than just hearing about it and being scared and having a 6:00 curfew. It has affected some of our friends which is so sad but if there's one thing I've learned this week, it is that there is peace in Christ! And how happy I am to deliver that peace in any way that I can!
We had lots of lessons this week!
In one lesson, we were teaching someone new and were teaching her about Joseph Smith and the Restoration and at first she was kinda pushing back and not taking it in but then she looked at her daughter who was listening and believing and it was like her heart was softened right there! That was really cool to watch! This gospel message is such a happy one but a LOT of people reject it without even giving it a chance! But man is it worth it to just give it a chance! It can change lives!
Kind of a funny thing happened this week haha... We were talking with one of the young women in the ward and had a video lesson and were messing around with the filters and then her Grandma walked in and saw us and was so confused! It was so funny! I'll attach a picture we took of how we looked for that poor Karen Grandma! But man I love them!
We had LOTS of lessons reading the Book of Mormon and those are my FAVORITE lessons! It is so fun to apply to us and we ALWAYS learn something new! So dang cool.
Something I learned this week: The sun will always come up. There were a couple kind of rough days this week where we were feeling really anxious and down. I wrote in my journal one night how I was feeling and at the end I just wrote about how I knew that I could pray to God for comfort and that I knew these things won't last forever and the sun will come up! And now looking back I feel that that was so so true! There were so many times where God comforted us! President Barney along with our Zone Leaders and a lot of my friends randomly reached out several times this week to offer help and it always seemed to be right when we needed it! We were able to get Priesthood blessings of comfort and man I am so grateful that God has given us the opportunity to feel and use His power in such an amazing way! We also felt very lifted and comforted as we lifted and comforted others! I think that was one of the biggest ways that we were able to feel better! Right now we are still kind of in the fire of things but I know the sun will come up and there is light and happiness at the end of the tunnel! That goes for any trials we may experience!
I love you all and hope you will feel God's love for you and be able to see His hand in your lives!
