Saturday I went running for the last time here... it was sprinkling for most of it. We went on a kayaking tour in La Jolla so we had to leave almost right when I got back from my run. It was such a cool tour! La Jolla has 7 caves along the coastline so we kayaked over to them. Todd and Megan got to go inside one but our guide, Alex said it wasn’t safe after he went in with them, so no one else on the tour got to go inside. Megan said it was a little crazy with the waves and tide and it wasn’t very big inside so only one kayak would’ve been able to go at a time. That would’ve taken a long time because there were a lot of kayaks!! We wondered if it was more because of a time constraint than an actual danger to go in! Kinda a bummer!! He was a good guide though and we learned all about the caves, sea life and even earthquakes and fault lines that run into the ocean where we were. He told us a lot about the birds and local information! He was a good guide! He also took a selfie on my phone when he was taking a picture of us!! He was pretty funny!! It was overcast and really cold! But we had a fun time! My only complaint was that there were too many kayaks! Everyone kept bumping into each other and there were a lot of kids who didn’t know how to steer! We drove back to the condo and got some lunch. We were so HUNGRY! We really worked up an appetite! We were also super cold from being wet and a much cooler day today! Yes, we are all Arizona whimps! We all got showered up and then we watched The Help. We went out to dinner at a BBQ joint downtown— close to where we’d poked around yesterday. The food was really good! We were so stuffed!! Too much good food! Came back and watched a movie and had MORE ice cream! (There’s always room for ice cream!) I fell asleep and went to bed...
