We said goodbye to our dear friend Sister Rick's! She went home to Texas on Wednesday & I still can't believe how fast that time went by!
With Sister Rick's last couple of days we had some AMAZING experiences!
We had a lesson reading the Book of Mormon with one of our friends & then we all bore testimony of the Book of Mormon & our friend bore her testimony too! She bore her testimony of the Book of Mormon & applied the story of Nephi to herself! She also bore testimony of Joseph Smith & that she knows God called him to translate the Book of Mormon! We know that God led us to her to teach her these things! The Spirit was so so strong in that lesson & we were all just crying across our devices. Probably one of the most touching experiences I've had on my mission! :) And one of the coolest things about it is that she is reading the Picture Book of Mormon & learning English as she reads! Man, God is so good! And another cool thing is that the Spirit is helping me understand Karen better! In all of these lessons where we are feeling the Spirit super strong, I can understand pretty much everything that is being said! So cool!
We also saw blessings from following small promptings this week! Promptings to do small acts of kindness are always a good idea! :)
We've gotten to teach the Plan of Salvation to a couple of our friends this week and had some really awesome lessons! I love teaching about God's Plan for us because so many people don't know about it and it is so cool! So many of the people we teach hear it and then are just so happy to learn about it! I know that it really is God's Plan for us & it makes sense! I also know that the Spirit is helping these people understand us! During one of the lessons, I felt like I wasn't explaining very well in Karen & I was so nervous but when I asked her if she understood & what she thought, she said she really liked it! I am so grateful that we are never alone & that God is always helping us accomplish His plans!
A really cool thought that our Mission Leadership Council discussed recently was about attitude. Attitude is everything. And especially right now it is so important to have a good attitude. We can have the attitude that this is just a hard time & we are just enduring (which is valid) or we can have the attitude of seeing the good & recognizing opportunities! Plus it is so much more enjoyable in the long run to have a good attitude & spread that goodness to everyone!
Anyway I love you all & I hope you have a good week!
