Today was a FULL day! I went running at 6am... It was a gorgeous run with all the beautiful scenery to look at. I was tired though-- with all the late nights lately. We all showered and went to breakfast-- Bill was already at his meetings when I got back from my run. We went to the Spouse Mtg. and were finished by 11am! We loaded up into the car and poked around Downtown Jackson in all the cute, old-fashioned stores. We got a picture at one of the 4 Antler Arches in the town square. (These are Elk Antlers.) We went to a fun shop and saw some beautiful coats and blankets made of local animal fur. We walked over to Snow King Mountain recreation area, and Brooke, Katelyn and I did a really cool ropes course! Some of the courses were really difficult and we were really tired afterward from climbing ladders, holding on for dear life going across all the obstacles and going on all the zip lines! We were super high up in the tree tops and had all sorts of safety equipment and procedures we had to follow. Our hands were pretty sore from all the gripping and hanging on that we did! It took all my energy to climb and do the obstacles. Brooke and I did all the courses except for the very last one and Katelyn finished the very last one which was the most difficult. That girl has never-ending energy and no fear! I would've been able to do it if I weren't so tired and my hands so torn up. My legs got pretty beat up too. Brooke felt the same way. We all rode the last course of zip lines down to where we started the ropes course. Even that was tiring because we had to climb a bunch of ladders for that as well! We all (Dad and McKenzie too) rode the Alpine slide back down the mountain. (We took the ski lift up...) Dad and Mac just watched our craziness from below and got lots of fun pictures to document it all!
From there, we walked over to the County Fair where we got tickets for the rodeo. We walked around the food vendors and got some dinner and then went to the arena to wait for the rodeo to start. It was really fun to watch all the different events--bronco riding, bull riding, barrel racing, calf-roping, etc. They were some pretty difficult and scary things! Those guys are all very highly trained! You couldn't even attempt something like that without a lot of practice and safety training. The rodeo started early at 7:45 and wasn't over until 10:30!! (Almost 3 hours!!) We didn't get back to the hotel until 11:30 because we had to walk back to the downtown area where our car was parked. It was a long but very fun day!!!
