Later we went to a Diamondbacks V. St. Louis Cardinals game at Chase Field. Bill had gotten 10 free tickets from work, so we let the girls invite friends. It was a super fun time! We went to eat at Sardella's Pizza first, and then drove to downtown Phoenix for the game. It was a looooong game and the D-backs did NOT do well. There was an inning where the Cards scored 5 runs! Ugh!! We ended up losing 8-4! BUT, all was not lost. We were treated to one of the best and for sure longest fire works show I've EVER seen! It was set to music and pretty spectacular!! It was also so nice because the field is air- conditioned so it was nice and cool, but they opened the roof for the show so we were outside. It's always a treat to be outside and feel cool in JULY!! I always love fire works and feel so proud of my country and to be an American! I felt that again tonight. It was a fun celebration all day today! (Below from L-R: McKenzie, Afton Smart, Randi Bingham, Katelyn, Whitney Jensen, me, Brooke, Weston Buckhannon, Parker Muller and Dad) And just a note: Katelyn was called as the Mia Maid Class President and Randi and Whitney are her 1st and 2nd Counselors... kinda fun! Randi just recently moved into our ward from Pinnacle Peak ward.
P.S. In one of the pictures below, McKenzie has her nose in a book... so typical of her! She really didn't like being at the game and especially that long...which I could completely understand!!
