We had a fun evening! We had a nice Tri-Tip Roast for Sunday dinner and then Bill and I went next door to the Richman's to say hi for their New Year's Eve party. Then we headed over to Mom's house where we played Shanghai Rummy and counted down the hours and minutes to the new year! It was a lot of fun! Megan and I bought party hats and funny glasses, Martinelli's and we had some fun sparklers and fireworks to ring in 2018! Welcome New Year!!

With a Knick Knack Paddy Whack Give a Dog a Bone...
12.30.2017
We felt guilty for all the attention we've given to Paisley, so we bought Summer a big bone to chew on. She chewed most of it and then buried the rest in the yard somewhere-- she got all dirty doing it is how we figured it out. She may just get more attention now that we have Paisley!! We also took Paisley to be groomed because her hair was so long! She looks like a cute little teddy bear now!
Meet Paisley Everest Freeman!
12.29.2017
We had fun today going to Wal-Mart and Petsmart to buy all the things we needed for our puppy. I feel like we are having another baby with the amount of stuff the breeder said to buy-- sheesh! We've been discussing since Christmas day names for our little fluff ball. We decided that we needed to see her first but liked the names Everest (Evie), Lacey and Paisley-- Megan came up with Paisley, I came up with Lacey and Brooke came up with Everest-- after Mount Everest to be funny because she's so small. Well, we went all the way back to the airport tonight to pick up our little sweetheart. SHE IS SO CUTE AND SWEET AND SMALL!!!!! We decided to name her Paisley! It fits her perfectly! She didn't make a sound in her kennel when we were signing the paperwork. I couldn't believe it! She was super mellow all the way home and the whole first day! We love her already!!!!
Goodbye DC!!!
12.28.2017
We had a leisure morning today as we woke up and packed to go home. Below is proof that Megan steals the covers! Katelyn didn't have any the whole trip! Hahahaha! We turned in our rental car and caught our flight and everything was on time. We connected through Atlanta again and made it safely to Phoenix. We didn't get home until midnight, but found that all was well there... This trip is a beautiful memory in my mind now! I keep thinking about it and reliving it. It was like a dream. We enjoyed being together in one of the most amazing cities in the world!
The DC Temple!! And President and Sister Johnson!!!
12.27.2017
It was super neat to attend the DC temple this morning!! Dad, Megan and I did a session while McKenzie, Brooke and Katelyn did baptisms. What a beautiful building. This Spring it will be closed for a couple of years for major renovations! It was fun to be able to go-- last time we were in DC we got lost and couldn't find it, so it was fun to finally be able to see it and go inside! Megan knows her way there she said, "with my eyes closed!". We found it this time! There was a sweet spirit in our session and the girls enjoyed their baptisms. We got LOTS of pictures in front of the temple to document our day there! It was cold and snow was falling, but not sticking. We were super cold! We drove back to our hotel and changed and took the metro back to the city and saw the Natural History Museum and the American History Museum... on Megan's terms! We dubbed her the Nazi Tour Guide because she literally gave us about 15 minutes per museum! Ugh!! (She had 18 months to see it all!) Katelyn was super upset that we couldn't stay longer at the Natural History Museum and I was super upset that we couldn't stay longer at the American History Museum. It was our last day, too! But, the Johnson's finally got back with Megan and could meet, so we left the city and went back to our hotel to get the car to drive out to the mission home in Gaithersburg. It was so fun to meet them and visit about all sorts of things-- mainly missionary work. They wanted to know who she was dating, so she happily updated them about that. They are super neat! I can see why she loves them so much! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. After, we went and got some dinner at a pizza joint (reminded me of Mod's here) and then ended the day at the VC, so we could really see the lights this time. The lights are gorgeous! I've never seen that many different colors before! My favorite were the dark and light teal colors!! It was really cold walking around! It felt good to go inside the VC!! Megan got to talk to a lot more people tonight and saw Sister Greenhalg as well. I was able to meet the Ferrin's-- who are the VC Directors there right now. Everyone LOVES Megan and says what a great missionary she was! Well, it was our last day in DC! I'm kind of sad to go home. We have all thoroughly enjoyed our time is this amazing and beautiful city! Megan is so blessed to have served here in this mission! It was fun to go back with her and see so many people that she loved and taught! Good bye DC!!!!
