Today we woke up and got ready early We are staying with Beckie and Greg Rasmussen at their home in South Jordan. Elder (Bryce) Lundstrom was so nice and gave us a ride all the way to Logan! We hadn’t realized it was so far away!! He lives in Salt Lake so it wasn’t close for him to come get us but we had a really nice visit all the way up to Logan for 2 hours!! We stopped where Sister (Maile) Norton was staying so we could change into Karen dresses that we borrowed from her. Then we headed over to the place they were getting married. It looked like a castle! We were super early so we just walked around the grounds and talked. It was a long wedding and Brooke sort of translated for me but it was noisy and echoey too, so she couldn’t hear very well. I got the gist of what was going on though. Another Elder (Elder Austin Morris) was there too. He and Maile have a definite thing going on and it was fun to watch them! He had just gotten home from his mission on Wednesday!! He and all of his family came and we enjoyed visiting with them all after at the lunch. It was fun to hear all their mission stories! The Karen food was mostly really good! It was spicy but good! There was a sauce I really liked with what resembled a spring roll. There was only 1 meat I didn’t like. Brooke helped me pick out my food but she threw me under the bus when I took way too big a bite of something. She didn’t warn me and was just laughing so hard at me! It actually wasn’t that bad but she thought I wasn’t going to like it but she didn’t warn me! She was supposed to warn me!! Little stinker!! Hahaha!!
We visited with all the missionaries and the Morris’ after— we got pictures and were almost the last ones there! Then they went home and we went back and changed at Maile’s place and played a game of Uno. Brooke won of course! They decided we needed to go get Aggie ice cream on the USU campus so we went up there and visited while we waited in a fairly long line outside to get in! It was worth the wait though and was so yummy! I treated them to the ice cream… We dropped Maile off and traveled the 2 hours back to Rasmussens. Again it was so nice that Bryce went out of his way to take us!! It was such a fun day-- definitely a cultural experience, and fun to spend it with Brooke!!
