Temple Baptisms with Jarred!!!

We got to go with Jarred for his first time doing temple baptisms! It was such a sweet experience! First we went to dinner at Kneaders. We enjoyed talking and visiting. Then we headed over. A counselor in the temple presidency spoke to everyone in the chapel in the baptistry first. He spoke powerfully about the importance of what they were doing and bore a sweet testimony of the truthfulness of the work they were performing. It was the Phoenix Mission’s night for baptisms, so everyone there was a new convert doing it for the first time. I know Jarred was super nervous. He sat with Bill and I until it was his turn. Brooke and Katelyn got to be witnesses and were called up at the beginning to do that. So the way it worked was Jarred was asked to perform the baptisms BEFORE he was actually baptized. You could tell he was so nervous but he did it! He made some mistakes with mixing up where the names went and Brooke caught it and so they explained it to him. He just had to redo a few names and then he had it!! Then he was baptized by the man he had just baptized and it was the very first time for both of them!! I found myself marveling at how sweet it is that Heavenly Father allows us to take part in these things and to help Him do His work! He could just do it all Himself, but no, He lets us help! We are all imperfect at it too, but He still let’s us come to His house and perform His work and be strengthened by it! I am so grateful for that opportunity! I told Jarred that it was ok to make a mistake because it was the temple and they don’t get mad at you! They just help you to do it correctly. What a sweet experience to be a part of! I continue to marvel at Jarred’s faith! He is just so strong and firm in the gospel! Bill assisted with the confirmations after and we were all invited to be in the room for that. We were able to FaceTime with Elder (Kade) Rowley after, outside the temple. It was fun to hear and see him again! Elder (Daniel) Mason just barely got home on Wednesday so we couldn’t reach him. Jarred loves donuts so we went to Krispy Kreme after and he and the girls got some donuts. It was such a neat experience with Jarred!!  What an amazing evening!!!
