Another week just flew by! We are having a BLAST here in Shoreview!
We are still trying to figure out the area but we are finding and teaching some really neat people! We found a guy that has the same last name as me! Haha so we are teaching him now and he seems super open! We are also teaching another family and they are just absorbing everything! God really has restored the Church of Jesus Christ and people can recognize that as they listen to the teachings! Also the Book of Mormon is just the best!
Tender mercies :)
There were literally four times this week that I was craving cookies and then the next person we visited had cookies for us! My little wish was granted because they maybe followed a small prompting! And it made my day!
In this last Zone Conference, Sister Barney talked about the Iron rod and the vision of the tree of life in 1 Nephi chapters 8 and 15. She related the iron rod to hiking a trail in Zion National Park at Angels Landing and how those people literally have to cling to the chain in order to stay on the path and not fall off and die. I thought that was really interesting. How tightly do I hold on to the iron rod/ the word of God? During the discussion, I also thought about how Christ climbed and blazed the trail (still thinking about Angels Landing). As He blazed the trail, He also made the iron rod. And then! He climbs the trail again and again with every single person who has lived or ever will live on the earth! He is there to give us a hand when we slip and He is there to carry us when our strength wears thin. He is our Savior and Redeemer! I am so grateful for that!
Know that the Savior is walking/climbing with you! If you have lost sight of the path, try to find it! He is waiting with His hands outstretched! If you feel that you are slipping, rely on His Atonement and love! If you are clinging to the rod, don't look back and keep pressing forward until that day when you get to partake of the fruit of the tree of life with your Heavenly Father and Savior proudly standing near. It will be worth it in the end!
I love you all and I am so happy to be out here serving in Minnesota! Have a great week!
Love, Sister Freeman :)
