Sumter MIRACLES (Katelyn's Letter)

4.03.2023

Y'ALL!

OK every week is crazy but THIS WEEK WAS CRAZY CRAZY! I'm in Sumter, SC now--totally unexpected! Sis McCullough went home, and MIRACLES ARE HAPPENING left and right!!! I will miss the people in Stevens Creek so much but I know I'll see them again soon:) My new comp is THE Sister Daines!!! She is AWESOME. So hyped for this transfer!

Seeds of Faith
MIRACLES! Here's a list of a few:
-Flowers: a storm blew over a lady we felt prompted to knock's flower planters and as she picked it back up 2 flowers were the only ones that broke off and she gave them to us! That's a testimony to me that God is aware of our smallest needs and will "send pick me ups" if we notice them:)

-JENA: OK y'all this is crazy. So for some reason on Friday mine and Daine's phones were both dying and we didn't have maps to direct us anywhere. I just started driving and literally don't even know how but the spirit told me when and where to turn! We ended up going to this house that we later realized wasn't even in our area... BUT we talked to this lady in her backyard named Jena. Her ex husband was a member of the church. We got talking and she wanted us to come by again AND she will be moving into our area very soon!!! It's crazy how good God is frfr! He is so aware of everyone!

-JOLISA: OK this was one of the top spiritually strengthening and uplifting experiences of my life. This would be a hecka long email if I went into all the details but basically this girl is the most ready and excited to come closer to Jesus Christ person that I've ever met. She and us realized how perfectly her life has lined up to get to the point of us knocking on her door and giving her a Book of Mormon! Here's some things: She lived in Utah for job training, and her trainer taught her about Joseph Smith. She did family history through the church's program without even knowing it. As she was searching on YouTube for a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ, she came across a Book of Mormon ad and immediately requested to get one. We talked to her about the book, and we talked about prophets today and RIGHT as our lesson ended, the evening session of General Conference started so we watched some with her. She LOVED it! She watched all the Sunday sessions as well, even with company over, and is super excited to read the Book of Mormon and meet with us again! GOD IS SO GOOD!

-Anthony: We had another prompting to talk to him. He is so smart and a deep thinker. He was impressed that we were able to answer all of his questions about life and God.

-We watched GENERAL CONFERENCE (SOOOOO GOOD) with our bestie Willie who wants to make that two way promise to God by getting baptized! It was pouring rain that day and we knew we had to watch it outside because he was home alone. When we got there the rain stopped and it was the most beautiful view while watching such beautiful sermons! I want to watch GC out in nature every time now. It was AWESOME!

-Stevens Creek and Nexton taught me a LOT about trusting the will of God for me and others and being grateful no matter what the circumstances are. Without that refiners fire I don't think I would appreciate or follow the Spirit as I do now and love God so much!

*INVITATION *
Hard things are miracles y'all! Never forget this in your darkest times because those times teach you the most and the miracle of your growth closer to Heavenly Father is the most important one! Keep track of the small things that God sends to remind you of Him--like a dead phone forcing you to pray for literal direction or a flower given from a storm:)

Pockets of Fun
-WE THREW A SURPRISE FUNERAL FOR COLA (look at pics) and it was EPIC (Sister Hinds--the Bishop's wife, is a LEGEND.) We ended up being an hour late to it though haha. But it was really fun and she was so happy and surprised:)) I'm gonna miss Sister McCullough soooo much but she will do amazing things in life and I'm excited for her!!
-Some kids dumped soda on our car driving under a bridge lol!
-I got attacked by dogs SO MANY TIMES this week lol but at least they weren't all over Sister Daines *as much* cuz she hates them haha. I would pull them away and then they'd just jump on me again.
-We climbed a fence to knock on a hoarders door most sketchy thing ever...
-We go workout in a park every morning here and I get to watch the sunrise as I run!
-We were praying in our car when Sheila (another one of our friends) knocked on my window and scared the bojangles outta me baha! Then we had a fire lesson with her!

Southern Vocab
Piggly Wiggly: A grocery store here. I haven't gone to one but if it's life changing inside I'll let y'all know, lol!

hello
Hello! I’m Mindy. I love Spring and Fall weather, the BYU Cougars, reading, hiking and of course…my family! I LOVE being with them doing just about anything…but usually attending one of their games or just hanging out!
