It was another gorgeous day in paradise! We hiked a pretty steep path up a mountain and then up over 300 steps to the top of the oldest functioning lighthouse in Mexico. Our guide Cristobal was really knowledgeable and very friendly. He answered all our questions and gave us even more information than we'd asked for. He was very nice! He told us about the birds and animals, a bit about the history of the area and had some pretty funny jokes, as well. We had a larger group and it was pretty strenuous, so we took several breaks on our way up so we had breaks for pictures! We were on what used to be one of 7 islands in the area but now all but 2 of these are connected to the mainland with bridges. He brought some yummy homemade marshmallows to share with us and they were SOOO good! It's a family he knows that makes them so we were able to buy some after the tour. We ended up buying 6 packages so we could give some away to Livingston'es and Megan and Todd. Fresh marshmallows with no preservatives made from coconut are so much better than the yucky stuff we buy in the States. I can't wait to roast them and dip them in chocolate. I wonder if you could make Rice Krispy Treats with them too?!? They were so yummy!! Today as our shortest stop but it was still a lot of fun! After the tour, we went and got Virgin Margaritas (Lime ones-- to die for!) and Pina Coladas! There were shops all over this little courtyard where we bought them so I poked around and found a cute little sea turtle charm for my bracelet. All in all a very fun day!!!
