Both Shepherd and Lamb :) (Katelyn's Letter)

12.12.2022

Hey y'allllll!

Sorry p-days are so crazy but here's a quick spiritual thought as well:)

Seeds of Faith
Christ as a shepherd AND the Lamb of God

We've read Mosiah 14 a lot with people recently. Y'all should definitely read it. SO GOOD!

Mosiah 14:6- All we, like sheep, have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquities of us all.
Mosiah 14: 7- He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb so he opened not his mouth.

I've been pondering the roles of Jesus Christ and how He is both our shepherd and God's lamb! Elder Gerrit W. Gong talked exactly of this in his talk 'Good Shepherd, Lamb of God'.

"As our Good Shepherd, He calls us in His voice and in His name. He invites all to find peace, purpose, healing, and joy in the fulness of His restored gospel and on His covenant path. As Lamb of God, His Atonement, infinite and eternal, is central to the Plan of Happiness and the purpose of creation. He assures us that He carries us next to His heart."

*INVITATION*
Jesus Christ is so beautifully our shepherd but has gone as low as the farthest lamb has wondered. How perfectly sincere and powerful is His love and Atonement?! PLEASE ponder how He is both your shepherd and lamb of God this week and follow His example in finding His sheep and learning to love others at their farthest wondering and you will find your personal relationship with the Good Shepherd and the Lamb of God strengthen:))

Pictures:
1-5. CHRISTMAS ZONE CONFERENCE was so fun and my district wore matching dresses and ties for our talent show act. It was a clap and kazoo dance to the Winter Hymnal--very epic baha! Definitely didn't take a whole entire p-day and every night before bed to practice...
6-7. We went to the Isle of the Palms! The elders dug a hole with a wooden spoon--what a time, lol!
8. We celebrated John's birthday on the 7th AND that day he took his last cigarette. He has gone without smoking for 5 DAYS NOW Y'ALL! He is so gonna make it to his baptism. This guy is so amazing...I can't express how proud I am of him and how proud God is--the change is incredible! Keep praying. Prayer power is real!
9-13. Two p-days ago we went to a lights festival on James Island--SO FUN. I love my district. We are so close if you can't tell by the matching outfits at our half mission Christmas Conference, lol!
