Another week down and I'm SO excited for Christmas Eve!!!! Keep John in your prayers y'all! He is trying super duper hard to stop smoking to be baptized on Christmas Eve and that would be the ABSOLUTE BEST Christmas gift (and miracle) EVA!!
Seeds of Faith
Cool bing story: (Bings are random promptings from the Spirit.) So we got a bing to knock on this new referrals' house after only contacting her once and no one answered... then we off knock her neighbors and they answered but no one was interested... THEN because the timing with knocking the neighbor was perfect, as we were driving out of the neighborhood the mom of the person drove up and recognized us from her ring doorbell and stopped us to turn around and come back, as her daughter Bryce was behind her. So THEN we went to their house and talked to them and her 24 year old daughter (she is literally so so awesome and fun) opened up about the custody battle she is having for her son. She was asking all the websites she could find for prayer and we were one of them but she didn't expect us to show up to her house lol. We prayed with her and as we continued talking we connected with the fam. Then they invited us to eat dinner with them!! We didn't have a dinner planned so we said "heck yeah" and ate some DELICIOUS curry and had a really good time with them! As we were leaving Bryce thanked us and said she was so glad we stopped by and that we helped her a lot. We promised to continue to pray for her! It's crazy how life sends you to people and after one interaction you can all the sudden be good friends with a person. I LOVE how missions do that. Anyway, please keep Bryce and her son in y'alls prayers. She is a QUEEN and a really awesome mom-- her son needs her!
*INVITATION*
Follow bings y'all and missionary work isn't just teaching lessons. Many times it's doing what Christ would do and being there to support each other in what we are going through. Act on any and all bings to show love and care for people even if it's scary or may be awkward. I've learned that most of the time people see that you are trying to show kindness and they appreciate you no matter who you are or how messy the words come out of your mouth... so JUST DO IT. This Christmas season is all about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and the start of a life that would forever change all of ours, so let's strive to change others for the better one person at a time:)
Pockets of Fun
-We pulled out the Christmas decorations!!! And made a lot of them as well 'cuz we are broke and had to get creative with paper... Lol.
-We found out we are going to be helpers at THE FIRST GIVING MACHINE IN SC!!! If y'all don't know what a giving machine is its basically a vending machine where you go purchase something like a goat or coat for charities that will go and distribute them to people all over the world or locally depending on what you get! It's so cool and a super fun thing for the family to do during the holidays!
-Sister Ray (a new missionary) stayed with us for a day!
-We went to our stake's Carols and Cookies where people performed amazing music and we ate cookies after. We talked to a lot of people and it was so fun!!
-We ate dinner with a member in our ward and his girl friend that Kanoo baptized last time she was here. Her name is Sandy and she is the cutest lady ever!!! She calls vegetables "vej get ables" haha and ended up giving me some fun shot glasses lol! Love her!
-Started some Christmas shopping on p-day:)))
