It was an extremely emotional day with complete opposite emotions-- joy and sadness. Joy because Katelyn received her mission call and sadness because Mom received her mission call back HOME. The knowledge of the Plan of Salvation helped us to have an eternal perspective and gave us the strength to move forward, but to also feel peace right where we were in our grief. What a blessing this was! Katelyn opened her mission call quietly at the Provo City Center Temple Visitors' Center just with Brooke there who took a video. (There is a screenshot below of this.) Then Katelyn shared her call with the family via Facetime at 5:30pm so that Grandma could listen in and be a part of things. Later on at 8pm Katelyn read her call in her Hinckley Hall Common Room with all her friends and via Instagram Live, but Bill and I were with Mom during her final minutes of life. It was hard, so hard to be with her in an hour of struggle and sadness, but I'm so glad I got to be with Mom holding her hand until those on the other side could hold her hand and take her from there! She has hit the ground RUNNING up in heaven and will serve right alongside Katelyn as she serves her mission in Columbia, South Carolina! She reports on May 16th for at home MTC for a week and then she will report to the Provo MTC.
