Memory Lane and Last Night with the Girls!

I took a walk down memory lane and got pictures of the apartment complex I lived in when I met Bill-- good old University Apartments. They are still called that!!! My apartment was on the top floor pictured on the left of the building. My bedroom was the corner window and the living room is the next window over. The next picture I'm pretty sure is the house where Bill lived. Later, we had dinner at Chilies with the girls and enjoyed our last evening together. I'm REALLY going to miss both of them and the house is going to feel so EMPTY! It's going to be a LONG drive home tomorrow...

Sunday Funday!

It was a fun day spent with the girls... picture below dropping Katelyn off tonight. We enjoyed going to Brooke's ward this morning and spent the afternoon and evening up visiting Beckie and having dinner with Amber. I'm really gonna miss my girls!!!

PIcture Day @ BYU!!

We had fun taking these pictures... the girls are SO EXCITED about starting school! Katelyn is excited to start college and Brooke is excited to be starting her Nursing program! I am so happy for both of them! (The picture of the Tanner building is Katelyn's view looking out her dorm window...the window is very dirty!) We also went to the bookstore to get their books and supplies...it was crazy in there! the fun is about to begin!!

 

New Student and Parent Orientation, Making the "Y" and Women's Volleyball...

Thursday was parent and new student orientation all day. Brooke went with me to the parent orientation meetings and we had so much fun! We went to the Marriott Center where they had information booths and then there was a general meeting with the students. We tried to find Katelyn but couldn’t in a sea of new students. We had lunch and then walked across campus to our breakout sessions. There were some great classes with some good information. Katelyn was free in the afternoon so we walked around the student booths in the Wilk. Then we all went to dinner together at Zupas. Later I went and watched all the freshman form the Y on the field by the MTC and all the fun with performances by the band and Vocal Point. Kilani Sitaki also spoke to all the students too and got them pumped up. Katelyn got on TV tonight at the Women’s Volleyball game! She was in the student section behind the server and kept getting right in that shot whenever someone served! Hahaha!!  (Below is a picture of the sea of new freshmen at the Marriott Center...)

 

BYU Foundations Conference--Katelyn's Having a BLAST!

Katelyn had a blast at the BYU Foundations Leadership Conference! She met so many new friends and got our of her comfort zone by joining in on a basketball throwing contest that only boys volunteered for (beating 1 or 2 of them-- in front of everyone!) and leading the 150+ people in the BYU Cougars cheer! She also got to meet Cosmo and have a lot of fun doing team building activities and learning how to navigate college life! I'm so excited for her to begin this next phase!!

One Last Hurrah in San Diego-- Day 3

Today Robin drove down and came with us to the beach! She spent the whole day and overnight with us. We had a really nice day at Mission Beach. Todd, Brooke and Katelyn boogie boarded for quite a while. We walked around the shops and got snow cones. We buried Todd in the sand! (He wanted us to!) He couldn’t get out without help! After much discussion in the car we decided to go to Hodad’s for dinner. It was a highly rated burger joint that Todd found in downtown San Diego. It was really good but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs— we each got a shake and we could’ve shared 3 and had plenty!! They were HUGE!! And the burgers were huge too!  Luckily we thought to order a big basket of fries and onion rings to share...  It was fun though! We played Code Names and watched TV when we got back.  We love that game!  We were going to roast marshmallows outside, but we were all WAY too full for any other food!!!  It has been such a fun vacation... I think everyone had such a fun time!
