Well the day started with an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter Scale! It was centered in Magna Utah. I'd just gotten up to go running and didn't feel a thing, although I noticed some large gaps in cracks I'd seen the previous 2 days that I'd remembered being much smaller!! When I got back from my run I heard the news and realized that's why those cracks were so large! What a crazy time we're living in!! The whole earth is in commotion! We got news that the trumpet on the Angel Moroni on the Salt Lake Temple fell off due to the quake as well... which is kind of funny, I think! The temple is under renovations right now anyway. They will just have to add a new Angel Moroni to the list of things to fix! There is also a picture below of how all the stores look-- especially on the TP aisle... of all things, people are hoarding toilet paper! (Many other items, as well...) But there is much to be grateful for-- like a living Prophet, Pres. Nelson, who is guiding us and helping us through these difficult times! I am grateful for his guidance and the hope and peace he brings!!
I made the cake for Katelyn yesterday, and Megan frosted it for me this morning! That was so nice of her! We had a super fun afternoon up the canyon. We originally went looking for snow to play in and Katelyn wanted to build a snowman, but there wasn't much of the white stuff. There was only enough for Katelyn and Dad to get in a several snowball fights. (For the record... Katelyn was the instigator of it all!) After snowballs were thrown, we found some cool things and it turned into a photo session of Katelyn... which was actually pretty fun! There are some great shots and I took them all on Bill's iPhone!
At Katelyn's request, we had a yummy dinner of Corned Beef and cabbage. Afterwards we celebrated with angel food cake! It was so yummy as we enjoyed it for a cheat day! Katelyn got to cheat all day since it was her birthday with Cadbury eggs that McKenzie gave her before we left for her birthday and a special container of Ben and Jerry's ice cream just for her! Oh and just as Katelyn was about to blow out her candles, Megan swooped in and blew them out before she could! We were all so surprised and Megan couldn't stop laughing! We laughed as we re-lit the cake and let Katelyn make a wish (again) and blow out her candles... without any help from her big sister!!! It was a fun day and didn't lack any excitement, as has been the common theme each day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
