I don't really know how to accurately describe missionary work right now haha! We teach lessons all online now & can only really interact with other missionaries. So it has been kind of interesting but we have still had some really amazing lessons & experiences & I can definitely see that God is still moving His work forward and is now, more than ever, preparing people to hear this message!
We've actually found a lot of cool people to teach that are really taking to the message we have! Man I know I say it a lot but it is so cool to see people light up as we share the gospel with them!
Some funny stories...
Our mission president has encouraged us to take more time to exercise & get out of the apartment so we've been meeting up with other missionaries (in groups of 8-10 lol) to play sports! One day we met up for Frisbee and Sister Ricks got nailed in the face with the Frisbee & started bleeding like crazy! One of our Karen friends just happened to drive up while this was happening and he was like "Is that Corona???" It was really funny! I'll attach a picture but beware it is kinda scary looking! (Oh she is fine now by the way.)
Another funny story happened yesterday! So we are allowed to gather as districts to have "church" & take the sacrament so we met up with the elders but no one brought bread! We had brought some pizza for lunch soooooo yes we had pizza for the sacrament. I have to say it was the weirdest Sunday of my life! But we had a really awesome testimony meeting & it just really stands out to me that the Spirit can be anywhere and in every situation! And the sacrament still had that deep significance even though it was pizza!
We had TRANSFERS THIS WEEK! And we got a NEW KAREN SISTER! SISTER NORTON! Wow we love her and I am so excited to be her companion for the rest of my mission! Haha! We are having a lot of fun in a trio right now!
A kind of cool little miracle happened this week! One of our Karen friend's heat in her house wasn't working and she was out of water so we gathered some blankets and went to the store to buy her some water and we bought about 5 dollars of water for her! THEN when we were getting out of our car, Sister Norton found 5 dollars on the ground! It was such cool timing and just such a tender mercy that God was directing the work & helping us in our efforts!
I love this church! I love being a missionary! I love being happy and finding joy and sharing joy! I love you all and I pray that you will find and share the joy of this gospel with the world! Have a great week!
