Our ward did the coolest thing today! We all met at the church to line up in our cars and then we drove to all the recently returned missionaries coming home due to the virus... Elder Greer was first, then Elder Ostler (he was covered up by my hand waving), then Elder Abbott. We "socially distanced" ourselves from them while welcoming them home! It was also so neat to see ward members we haven't seen for several weeks! We waved as we passed each other out of the Abbott's cul-de-sac. Katelyn made a "welcome home" sign out of a cardboard box she found (no poster board!) and we stuck some balloons on it. She hung out the window and we honked and yelled out our "welcome home" to them as we drove by! This whole thing has really caused us to get creative and think outside the box. During our "parade" people took notice and neighbors even asked what was going on and it gave them a chance to explain what was going on. People were super touched and thought it was so neat that our ward would come together and do something like this! I think missionary work is ultimately going to thrive from all of this. We don't need to wring our hands and worry that all these missionaries are coming home... I think those who are prepared will see everything going on and have questions that will ultimately lead to becoming members of the church. Heavenly Father is IN CONTROL! He knows what the world needs right now and things will happen according to His plan! I have full confidence and faith in this!
