We had to wake up early-- at 4:15 to catch our flight to Cambodia. (Siem Reap) Bag pull was at 5am, then we ate breakfast, then we left for the airport at 7am. We sat around at the airport for 2 hours! :( The flight was about 2 hours. When we got off the plane and went down the stairs onto the tar mac a wall of heat and humidity hit us like a wall! It is way more hot and humid here! We were given a beautiful bracelet made of flowers as we entered the airport. It was so fragrant! (picture below) Our hotel is gorgeous, though. It's out in the country and a much more calm and quiet environment!! We took a nap and got settled in our room and then took a tuk tuk (basically a cart connected to a motorcycle) to our dinner at "Square 24" Restaurant, where we had reservations. The food was really good! A bit different than Vietnam. One of the things made my nose run, it was so spicy!! I love how the fold the petals of the flowers here! You see this everywhere! We saw a bunch of geckos in the lights at the restaurant too! We each shared our meals and then after dinner we walked over to the center, where all the sidewalk vendors are. We got some waters and a Magnum ice cream at the grocery store. We decided to head back to the hotel because it was still just so hot and humid-- even at 8pm!! Plus, we have to get up early again tomorrow for our tour of Angkor Wat-- we leave at 5am. (To see the sunrise over the temple.) It feels nice to be back in our air conditioned room!! I'll sleep great tonight!! (The bed is huge by the way... much bigger than a king sized bed at home! Usually overseas, the beds are too small!)
