Chandler Rotary Invitational at Chandler High School

Schools from all over Arizona, California, New Mexico and even Texas were at this meet!  Here's Katelyn running the 3rd leg of the 4x800 Relay.  The first picture is on her first lap and the other 2 are on the 2nd lap.  They finished 3rd place overall and got to be on the medal stand and received medals!  They have a great team this year!  Katelyn wasn't feeling well and was throwing up after this race so Coach Lattie had us take her home-- otherwise she would've run the 800 a couple of hours later.  She REALLY wanted to stay and just tough it out, but Coach strongly recommended she go home just because of the sickness and also her knees and shin splints have been bothering her as well.  It just all added up to needing to go home.  He is a good coach!  Bright side is that she got to go home early and not sit in the stands all day until the team came home on the bus at the end of a looong meet!  Katelyn is such a competitor and her heart was at the meet and she really wanted to run, but her coach knew better.  I was glad he had her best interest at heart!  Good job today, Katelyn!  We love to watch you run... or more like fly!!
