A Soggy 2024 Mesa Marathon!

It sprinkled all the way to the time the race started and then it let up for almost the entire time I was running! The race started almost a 1/2 hour late due to busses breaking down and people getting there late due to the weather... it was hard on the psyche to wait, when I'd been waiting since 4:30 in the cold and rain! About 10 minutes after I crossed the finish line, the skies opened up and it just started pouring down rain-- I felt badly for those still running the race! And, it got SUPER cold! Robin, Allison and Bill came and cheered me on at several different spots on the route. That was so fun! (Robin was here in town for Conner's 5th birthday party.) Later I compared my results to last year's race thinking I did so poorly this year, but I actually ran it 2 minutes FASTER!! This year was a hard one... training was a lot more difficult for me due to sickness (a lot of sickness) and fatigue. But I did it!! I cranked it out! I am happy to have it over and just go back to my normal 4 milers every day! That sounds wonderful!!
