Last 7 weeks here we go!
My comps mom just said "painfully sweet" and that sums it up pretty well.
My comp Sister Hillyer is a legend btw--so fun!
But I thought I would be heartbroken being transferred but I FETCHING LOVE IT HERE!!! I have never felt so welcomed and like I belong as here! I think this was a tender mercy in disguise. There is SO MUCH WORK TO DO TOO! Can't wait to work crazy hard!
TERESA MIRACLE: So our friend Teresa was terrified to go to church but loves this gospel so much. She got double knee surgery and is a little bigger so she is very self conscious and anxious but Hill and I knew she needed church so we didn't take no for an answer lol. We got a priesthood blessing from her ride the day of (The Walkers are legends! We live with them too so it's a PARTY.) before 11:30 church (praise for it being later haha) and she looked SO CUTE in her dress all ready to go! Well long story short she was promised to feel peace, comfort and joy in the blessing. She came and LOVED IT! Had the most gorgeous smile on her face after it even though she was in lots of pain and the ward just scooped her up. Every single talk and convo was focused on self worth and peace, comfort and joy. It's like it was tailored to her! She said she didn't feel anxious at all by the end of sacrament! The priesthood is so powerful and people are just the best when you see them unknowingly being angels for someone else--they have no idea!
Relief Society's miracle: Speaking of angels--Relief society was also one of the best meetings I've been to this week! We went over Emily Belle Freeman's talk (y'all know I love her so it was already a great start) but at the end someone opened up about having suicidal ideations:( The spirit was SO STRONG as she testified of her struggle and how Jesus was literally her strength and life line. THEN another young mom spoke up and she has had a hard life--got into drugs and the wrong crowd in high school which gave her lots of trauma but this QUEEN who seemed uncomfortable the whole class until that moment, stretched out her tattooed arms and gave a testimony of her life and journey to Jesus that literally made me tear up y'all. She was so comfortable in her skin knowing she is a daughter of God and I don't know if she understands how strong and powerful her faith and testimony are but the whole room felt it. She testified of all people finding belonging in Christ no matter what and our friend Teresa and Shelby who came that day really needed that, I know. Shelby is another friend that came who lost her mom two years ago and she is only 19 years old:(
Anyway, now I know the hardest things can forge the strongest and brightest testimonies that pull more people together with all sorts of backgrounds. Experiences connect us no matter if we are black, white, big, small, disabled, broken, new, old, rich, poor, depressed, happy, misunderstood, alone, social, introverted, well spoken, uneducated, addicted, searching, finding, and EVERYTHING in between. That's why we HAVE to share! We HAVE to be vulnerable. We HAVE to look for ways to make new experiences like church and everything else we take for granted in this gospel, easier for newcomers. We HAVE to show that this church is not for cookie cutter "Mormons" but beautiful broken souls. We HAVE to walk through our own and with others through their Gethsemanes, as we take this life and all the experiences that it has, to learn that pure love of Christ and be like Him as He gets down to our level and lifts every single one of us:)
Lots of fun stuff this week. Said hi to lots of besties at transfers as always and thankfully had a super cute and sweet last pday at this little gorgeous spot called "the cross at Lake Murray". All the members that I have met have felt like home--can't explain it but its super tender! Lots more miracles in God's hands this transfer and I can't wait (lol yes I can take that back the plane can wait). OH also I'm in the same district WITH MY BESTIE RISKY!!! Been praying to be her comp the WHOLE mission and now we are on life support together:) I hear some talk of an epic funeral in the works by our king DL (District Leader) Elder Gibbs aha! Missions are the best frfr!!
LOVE Y'ALL! REMEMBER TO LOOK FOR GOD'S LOVE FOR YOU IN ALL YOU DO AND SEE<3
