Alberta got baptized on Saturday and it was one of the best experiences of my life! The spirit that was felt and the many miracles that I saw during the baptism and while teaching Alberta have been an awesome witness to me of the truthfulness and peace that this gospel holds! It all just makes sense and if it doesn't for you right now that's totally OK. Keep searching and look for new perspectives on your questions and talk to others about them! I can promise that no matter what the concern is, if you have righteous intentions, the gospel can shed light on and still be true with all of the new information that we receive and questions that we have!
Seeds of Faith
MIRACLE: Sister Busby, the person that gave the talk on the Holy Ghost at Alberta's baptism, did AMAZING!! At one point she (and all of us) teared up as she said that she obviously wrote the talk before knowing what Alberta was going to wear after she was baptized. Alberta was wearing a very colorful dress with lots of butterflies on it and as Sister Busby continued, she talked about how Alberta is like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly and that baptism is just the beginning of her beautiful journey! How awesome is that?! I just love seeing how much Alberta has had to go through in her life and how it let the gospel shine and change her to be an ever brighter and beautiful light for others. The dress she chose to wear was a beautiful testimony of this gospels' ability to change us!
*INVITATION*
Ponder where you are in your journey of change. It's completely OK if you feel you've gone back in your cocoon sometimes or have felt that wonderous change in the past but feel like you have backtracked. The amazing thing is that we can TRY AGAIN. We aren't only forgiven by God 7 times, but INFINITELY. So keep trusting God as you stretch those wings and learn to fly, learn to fall, and learn to grow stronger and get up again and again. God is right there for your unique journey for your beautifully special life! I promise as you ponder this and find the hope to change that God will open the way for you to fly!
Pockets of Fun
-I went on an exchange with Sister Moorhouse (Morty)! It was super fun and she tried my disgusting 80 gram protein shake aha.
-Morty was trying to put a little card with our number on it in this person's really cool car that we felt inspired to give it to, when the person DROVE UP and shouted "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Morty looked a little sketchy trying to put the card in the door of the car --so I ran out of our car and they quickly found out we weren't actually trying to steal their car and we had a good conversation. They are interested in learning more about Jesus Christ so let's go! It was pretty scary in the moment though bahaha!
-Both Alberta and Tommy are diehard Dallas Cowboy's fans so Tommy got her a cowboy's scarf for her baptism.
-Tommy and I made some chocolate chip cookies for some of our members that turned into just a sheet of cookie hahaha...
-There were so many good times and this week just went by sooo fast. I can't even remember half of it but we met a lot of awesome people this week and had some epic conversations :)
Thankful Thoughts
-The big bugs don't scare me so much anymore! This morning I saw a big bug and just stepped on it nonchalantly. This may not seem like much to y'all but for me that's a pretty big mission milestone haha!
-The Holy Ghost's role in helping missionaries find people who are ready for the gospel!
-The people in our ward here are literally so awesome and loving.
-Beautiful South Carolina skies and sunsets (I needa take more pictures of them).
Southern Vocab
Hardees: Carl's Junior (no idea why it's called a different name in the south haha).
I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM ALL Y'ALL! Send me an email or Facebook message me some highs and lows from your week. I love all y'all so much and I'm so dagum grateful for ya! <3
