Finishing Little Things on the Framing...

8.31.2022

The framers are starting to catch up on all the little things around the house that still need to be done. The first picture is in the master bathroom... it looks like they enlarged the opening to the shower. Pictures 2 and 3 show the basement storage room being framed in --in preparation to put the stairs in. The last 2 pictures don't show a lot of change but you can see the faux window on the south side of the garage (on the front side) was cut out of the plywood and framed in.

Provo City Center Temple Part Two!

Brooke and I enjoyed another session together this afternoon! It was such a gorgeous day and I loved being in the temple with her! This time we had more time to take pictures afterward... It has been so nice to go as much as we have!!

Sunset Hike @ Squaw Peak Overlook in Pole Canyon...

8.30.2022

Talk about the golden hour!! It took us a while to find exactly where we were going, but boy when we did it was AWESOME!! (The winding road that led here was worth it too!) What an incredible view of Utah Valley! We were commenting that it's so nice to get out in nature and away from the stress and hyper focus of our lives-- it gives so much perspective and helps to handle things better when you go back to "normal" life!! It was fun to do this hike with Brooke and Caitlyn Davis! Two cute girls!! They're already talking about doing a sunrise hike and taking their journals... what a good idea! Hiking is such a stress relief for me! It was on my Provo bucket list this week and I can now check that box! I can't wait until it cools down back home to be able to hike regularly every week-- can't wait to get back to it!!!! It has been such a blessing to be up here this week-- running in the COOL mornings and being able to spend so much one on one time with Brooke! I feel like I've really had a chance to slow down and take a breather-- even though it's such a busy time with things going on back home. I really needed this trip and I'm sad to go home!

The Tortoise and the "Bear"

This little guy wandered into Megan's back yard this morning! It's probably a neighbor's pet! I remember when we found a tortoise in our yard a while back-- it ended up being the Grover's!! Lukey Bear is soooo curious!!

"Chom with Mom"

To celebrate the first day of school, Brooke and I had dinner together at Chom!  Since I always take the girls there when I come, Brooke dubbed it "Chom with Mom"!!  Hahaha!  I thought that was cute!!

Brooke's First Day @ BYU Surprise from Megan...

Megan was super sweet and sent these cookies to Brooke today for her first day of BYU! She just felt like Brooke needed a little something special today! What a sweet sister-- literally! I took her to Crumbl and had her close her eyes so that it was a surprise-- got it ALL on video for Megan. What a kind and thoughtful thing to do!!!

This transfer has gone so DAGUM fast! (Katelyn's Letter)

8.28.2022

Hey y'all!!!

So transfers are this week and so I'm almost done with training! It's so crazy I can't believe it! I'll keep y'all updated on what happens-- literally anything could and I'm slightly terrified haha!

Seeds of Faith
A member gave a REALLY good talk at church based on President Nelson's talk on spiritual momentum! God knew I needed her insights cuz I actually did a discussion at a meeting on the SAME talk! Her speaking was literally like a general conference talk. I wish I had recorded it! Along with the points from Nelson's talk that y'all should read, Sister Jones gave 3 questions that God and Jesus Christ have asked her during a rough time in her life:
1. "Do you have faith in me?"
2. "Do you trust me?"
3. "Do you believe I did what I said I did?"
God will always be there for us and Christ's Atonement will always stand for us but we need to have FAITH, TRUST, and BELIEVE! That is something I have really had to learn so far on my mission! Here's one final question to ask yourselves RIGHT NOW: Am I where I need to be to get the answers to my questions?

*INVITATION*
Ponder the 4 questions above and whatever you are going through make sure you are where God needs you to be! I know I am:)

Pockets of Fun (and gross)
-Tommy got fake cockroaches and put them in my bathroom... ahem that was quite a traumatic experience. All I gotta say is if we get another transfer together I will most def be getting her back...
-We got Zaxby's for the first time on my 100 day mark!!! It's SOOO GOOD y'all I think it rivals Canes.
-So we were cleaning out our fridge and found spaghetti that a member gave us a longgggg time ago soooo that was disgusting and moldy.
-We had to go to the car place yet again to get our tire fixed haha. Probs from driving through one too many ditches.
-We made homemade hot cocoa in the microwave from scratch and it wasn't too bad! I think the butt load of whipped cream that we put on it made it better!
-Got to go on a blitz with Sister Gibbons and it was super cool to hear her conversion story. She is amazing and we heart attacked someone's door too!

Gratitude
ZAXBY'S:))
Sunsets and rises
Laughing and crying haha
Beautiful fields and green spaces!
Tommyyy and all she has taught me-- love her tons!

Southern Vocab
Bojangles: It's another southern restaurant (the boberrry biscuit is SO good) but we also use it as a fun word for emphasis.
"You scared the bojangles out of me!!"

Pictures:)
