Tonight was our ward Christmas Party Covid style. We had it outside (again—FREEZING)! Everyone parked in a circle like we did at the Trunk or Treat back in October and we had Macayo’s cater the food with tacos and all the fixings and then tables and chairs were set up in the middle with tablecloths and centerpieces, if you wanted to sit there, or if you felt like you needed to social distance, you could bring chairs and eat by your car. Most people sat in the middle, but there were several that ate by their cars. It was fun to see everyone and do a little bit of visiting with them. It has been so weird to not see people on a weekly basis and visit with them and get to know all the new people. We have a lot of new people in our ward and many families have moved out during Covid too! Santa and his wife (ie: Ryan and Jennifer Bingham!) came to the party at the end. Jim Livingstone built a cute sleigh for them to sit in! There was Christmas music playing and people could Karaoke if they wanted to. It wasn’t a spiritual Christmas party like we normally have, but it brought the ward together and I think that’s what people need right now. It was fun. Still quite a bit of work… I spent the afternoon helping with set up and stayed after to help clean up. It's a good thing it didn't rain tonight! It was a beautiful evening! (Last year I remember it raining for the ward Christmas party!)
