This week has been crazy so imma try to keep this short but... who knows...
Here are the highlights:
>We had a Facebook training this week & it got us STOKED for Facebook work! Wow this is God's work & His plan is the only plan & His plan will come to fruition!
> I have a testimony that God wants to help us accomplish our goals! So I am working on several personal goals to improve myself & what not & one night this week I was working on a video but had some stuff I needed to do that night in order to stick to my goals so I said I would just work on this video until 9:50 and so I kept going & then 9:49 came around & my little brain was gonna just keep working but then! My phone died! Right at 9:50! Haha normally that would be really frustrating but I kinda just chuckled & realized that Heavenly Father was helping me accomplish my goals whether I liked it or not but in the long run! Of course we are gonna like it & be grateful! I've got lots of goals & I don't think I can do any of them on my own & I am grateful to know we have extra help for when we get distracted & forget!
>A funny from the week: At the end of one of our lessons this week Sister Norton said our prayer (in Karen) & said essentially "thank you for your sins for us" instead of "thank you for your sacrifice for us" hahaha it was really funny & the members we were with were just laughing haha! I told Sister Norton after & she thought it was so funny! Grateful for opportunities to laugh :)
> We had an amazing lesson with one of our friends! She's the one in the Isaiah chapters and when we met with her this week she had read FOUR chapters! (We just told her to read ch 22 which is pretty short and easy.) She said she didn't understand them but that she wanted to just keep reading because it made her feel good! And she said that she felt God answering her prayers through reading the Book of Mormon! During our lesson she said, "I love this book. I really love it" & I just about melted right there! I LOVE THIS BOOK TOO! Also after that lesson she said she wants to ask her friends if they'd want to learn about it too!
> Last week we found a new friend & talked with him a bit & he super loves the Bible & all this awesome stuff but we weren't really sure if he wanted to learn with us... Anyway then he makes a group chat with us and 24 of his friends that he wanted us to call & talk with about the Bible... Let me tell ya I was terrified! Haha I didn't want to do it. BUT God gave us courage & before we got on the call we decided we would just teach the whole Restoration #fullsend & I just said a prayer telling Heavenly Father that this was our plan & that we knew whoever got on this call would be ready to hear the Restoration. So we called expecting 24 people to hop on & chaos to ensue but then 1 person answered and SHE WAS READY! We taught her the Restoration & she was listening & so open! And through out the call another guy got on & he seemed pretty cool too! She even helped us explain some things to him that he missed! It was WAY COOL! THEN we had another lesson with her this week & taught her about & bore testimony of the Book of Mormon & after we bore testimony she asked a question that I didn't understand at first but then I realized that I understood all the words she was saying and that she was asking if she could get a Book of Mormon! I didn't understand because no one has ever asked that before! And THEN she also asked for the address to our church because she wants to go! Great things happen when we put aside our fears & shortcomings & let "Jesus take the wheel" as some would say :)
> One of my favorite things: When someone seems sad & like life is weighing down pretty heavy on them at the beginning of a lesson but then we have the lesson and read the Book of Mormon & by the end they are happy and/or tell us about what they are going through & the new perspective they have!
> This week our mission had a mission tour with President Nielsen & Jaggi & we got to hear from them & the Richardsons & I learned so much! Maybe I will save all of that for future emails!
> OK ALSO I just love the Richardsons so much! They are amazing! They sang a song for us during one of the zoom calls & they did it with so much gusto & passion! They are such good examples of giving all you have to what you are doing!
> Something that stood out to me this week is how important it is to make others feel important & loved! I think for me I get thinking that people will get annoyed or it is awkward to show them love or talk about how important and special they are but who in the world couldn't use a little bit of uplift? Everyone needs to feel special & sometimes they need that to come from a peer or leader or friend or family member!
> OK 'nother long story coming up here. But it's a good one! OK so we had a lesson with a member & we went in planning to just read somewhere in the Book of Mormon together.. Then she was telling us about her day & her feelings lately & THEN she told us she had a dream & we were in it! So she told us her dream & over the course of my mission I have learned that dreams (especially for the Karen people) carry a lot of meaning! As she was telling us this dream it hit me so hard that she needed to go to the TEMPLE... Then she finished telling us about that & we talked about what she thought it meant & got talking about some struggles she is facing & we talked about God's plan for her and for her family & THEN Sister Norton randomly brought up the TEMPLE & how we could make some goals to get her THERE! I was feeling the Spirit so strong & God's love for her so strong!
> I think Peter is coming up a lot in my studies & meetings we go to & the story where Peter walks on water is especially standing out in my mind. A principle from this story that I am learning this week is how important it is to have our focus on the Savior. It is so important for us to keep our focus on that vertical connection to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, rather then getting distracted & scared by things horizontally that are around us. The waves and winds and storms for Peter were real & scary but with a focus on Christ He could walk on water despite all that! Our confidence should be in Christ! Not in the world or peers' opinions and sometimes not even in our own sometimes faulty perceptions but in the true & living God who is constant & reliable! I also read about a Japanese saying in a talk this week that reminds me of this story of Peter that says, "Nanakorobi yaoki" or "fall seven times; get up eight." I know that through a focus on Christ we can get up every time we fall & what will make the difference for that eighth time will be keeping our focus on Christ sure and steadfast!
God loves you! You are his child! You are important! You are loved! He is preparing the way before you!
Have a great week!
Love, Sister Freeman ဖီပြံဝါ
