Katelyn and I made these signs and balloons and took them around to older people in the ward to cheer them and remind them we love them! It was fun, but on the last house, the Andus', I got CAUGHT! Their dog alerted them and I had to explain to Jerry what I was doing in their front yard. I think I startled him because it was dark and he could't see me... I explained and he was nice and said thank you! I feel bad that I may have scared them! It was fun though... We did Beverly Seigel, the Angell's and the Andus'...

Family Walk and Photo Shoot!
I have really been enjoying the walks we've been going on as a family every evening! Tonight we decided to take Katelyn's new camera and have a photo shoot as well! When we sat in front of the cactus below, I ended up getting a BUNCH of cactus pricklies in my bum and it itched and hurt for a couple of days! I'll never do that again! It was a fun evening and some memorable cactus... not in a good way!
I'm 100 years old! (Brooke's Letter)
3.30.2020
Heyo!
It's been a wonderful week! A little bit more restrictions have been added & our governor has ordered a "lock down" but nothing has really changed for us! We are having some really amazing online lessons & the work is still moving forward!
We taught one of our friends about the Book of Mormon last week & she wanted to read it! So just before all the big restrictions we got to drop one off to her! I just get so excited when other people get excited about the Book of Mormon!
A bit of a funny moment... We found a new Karen friend on Facebook this week & in our first lesson with her, I told her I was "Duhgyah" (100) years old instead of "duhchikwi"(19) & she got this confused look on her face & then laughed because Sister Rick's just started laughing! It was pretty funny! Maybe I should just tell everyone I'm 100 years old! It's a pretty good icebreaker! Haha!
We had a big virtual Zone Conference this week! TECHNOLOGY IS SO COOL! Seriously, technology is such an amazing way to connect in times like these and I am so grateful! At Zone Conference we had to say goodbye to a LOT of missionaries which was sad but they bore a lot of really powerful testimonies about their missions & about God's plan & about this gospel! It was really sweet!
So we are still allowed to do service outside so we went to a members house & helped her with her garden! Man even just seeing her made me so so aware of how much I miss these members! I miss them all so much! Since we couldn't go in her house, she brought some pho out to us and we ate it on the ground but man it was delicious!
We also got to do a virtual District Council this week & because of the wonders of technology... THE WADDOUPS GOT TO JOIN all the way from Utah! It was like they never left! And rumor has it they might be able to come back! :)
OK now for some BIG NEWS! Dah Wah is on date to get baptized!!! :) That guy is the COOLEST & we are so excited! Yesterday with the world wide fast, we invited Dah Wah to also fast so that his family will let him get baptized! He did it! But he was really tired & hungry when we called him at the end of the fast haha but anyway! Keep him in your prayers for April 11 :)
With all these video lessons that are shorter & don't take travel time, we have been able to call & see a lot more of our Karen members! And that has been so good! They are awesome!
It's been really cool to broaden our horizons and find new or re-find old ways to do missionary work! I think missionaries are getting really creative which is super cool! Someone said this week that this whole "crisis" will change missionary work forever in a good way! So we've been getting creative & went chalking! First time chalking in Karen but it was good & I think a lot of Karen people will think that is super cool!
On Sunday we had a virtual Ward Council & it was so neat to see the ward come together & give their ideas & share their experiences! (Again technology is so cool!)
We also skyped in to sacrament meeting! Another kind of wacky experience but still so good! I can definitely feel the power associated with that ordinance even when I am miles away from where it is being performed! So cool!
We had a video lesson with a Karen family the other day & at the end when we were saying goodbye, the little boy said "goodbye my superheroes!" Which was so dang cute & it made our day! I just want to challenge everyone to say things that will make someone else's day! You never know what people are dealing with personally but especially right now when everyone is dealing with these weird times it is so important to not only avoid speaking meanly but to lift others & leave people better than when you found them! It's no wonder why God wants us to be like little children! They can teach us so much!
I know with all my heart that our Heavenly Father is aware of us & loves us so much! We have an amazing opportunity to #HearHim this Saturday & Sunday as His Prophets & Apostles & leaders in the church speak to us! It will be amazing! Prepare yourself to hear His word this next week & He will speak to you! I am so excited! I love you all! Have a great week!

Thomas' Homecoming Talk via FB Live!
3.29.2020
Thomas gave such a sweet and inspiring "homecoming" talk via Face Book Live this morning! It was so neat to hear his testimony and some neat stories from his mission! He even dressed in a suit and tie...I am so impressed with him! It was so fun to watch and it's always great to see the growth that happens in these missionaries as they go forth to serve the Lord! He quoted this poem in his talk and I loved it, so here it is from his notes! Happy Sabbath!
