We had a nice time at Flemings Steak house for dinner tonight. The food was absolutely amazing... but we all had to roll out of there we were so full! It was yummy though! It was a nice evening and fun to be with the people who help so much to make Bill's career successful! It was also fun to catch up with everyone and their lives! It was a great evening!
After, Bill and Katelyn went to get gas and go to Wal-Mart, and they came across this family that was putting plastic on their belongings to prepare for the rain that was already falling. Bill had a strong impression to stop and help and found out that they had no where to stay and were preparing everything they owned to not get wet and to sleep in their car that night. Katelyn immediately asked them if they wanted to come to our Christmas Eve dinner with their 2 small boys aged 6 and 3-- Jaxon and Christian. They seemed very grateful. Bill and Katelyn drove home and we all agreed that we wanted to do Christmas Secret Santa for them, and help them out with a place to stay. We went back down to the Wal-Mart parking lot and offered to get them a hotel and found out what they needed and what the kids wanted for Christmas. We got them all settled in to their hotel at Comfort Suites. They couldn't believe that anyone-- especially strangers, would do that for them and became very emotional as we hugged them goodbye. We went back to Wal-Mart and had SO MUCH FUN picking out toys for the boys (Todd helped out a lot with that!) and for the parents too! We came home and by that time it was after midnight, but we wrapped everything up and put it into 3 large garbage sacks to give them at dinner tomorrow night. It felt good going to bed that night!! This is what Christmas is truly all about!
