Its been another crazy week!
We met Verna who is so prepared and open to our message! Haha she already knows the Book of Mormon is true! She thought it was weird that we asked her to pray to know if it is true because she already knew! Haha love her!
We also met ED! Ahh Ed is the best! We met him because he was sitting out in front of an apartment building and when he saw us he told us to sit down and tell him about our beliefs! Haha we were like uhhh okay! Don't have to tell us twice! So we ended up having a really good conversation! And we invited him to church (I had to give a talk so we invited him to come to that) and HE CAME! And HE LOVED IT. Haha He didn't think he would but he DID! Haha and now we are all buds :)
We also set Emma on date for baptism! So exciting! She is just amazing and I look up to her SO much!
Some food for thought from this week:
• There is a talk called "Apply the Atoning Blood of Christ" and it's a super good talk! Something that Elder Maxwell says in this talk is that "mortality presents us with numerous opportunities to become more Christlike." I just love that view of things! Every day we have opportunities to practice patience, develop charity, be humble, exercise faith, grow in knowledge, work hard, be obedient, and become more Christlike! So the next time your sister uses your clothes, or your mom asks you to do something, or someone treats you rudely, or anything else, see it as an opportunity to practice being Christlike and you might find you are a lot happier! Like Christ!
• Something else I realized by talking to a lady the other day is how disconnected the world is! We are all God's children, brothers and sisters but yet we are so disconnected. This lady was talking about how in the "olden days", people used to go to their neighbors if they had a question or needed advice... now they just go to the internet. People used to be in the community more because they didn't have refrigerators or Walmart delivery where you can go weeks without having to enter society. I challenge everyone to be more connected! Rather than using google for your next question or piece of advice, go to your neighbor or call a friend! Take a minute to talk to the people at the grocery store!
ANYWAY I love being a missionary and I love this gospel SO MUCH! The other day I started crying while testifying of the blessings of eternal families. They are SO important and my family is my favorite thing in the whole wide world! The biggest difference I've seen the gospel make in peoples lives is the hope and joy that comes through having a family rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am so grateful for my family :)
A funny thing:
We got a car wash... so it rained and by rained I mean POURED. And it's even better because it wasn't raining before we entered the car wash, but by the time we were literally drying off and exiting the car wash, it was POURING! More than it ever has since I've been here! And I have a video for proof lol!
Anywho, I love you all and I am SO SO grateful for all the emails I have gotten talking about tender mercies! Those were tender mercies for me! So thank you! I love to hear what is happening in your lives!
Know that I love you and that Heavenly Father loves you and is looking out for you (yes you!)
Have a wonderful week! If you see my family, give them a big tight hug for me!
Love, Sister Freeman
