Miracles and Tender Mercies :) (Brooke's Letter)

8.05.2019

Wow. What a week! Where do I even begin!?

Well for starters... CATIE & DAVID GOT BAPTIZED!!! Woot woot! It was so fun to watch as their family took this step together. I know this will change their lives & bless them for eternity! They are just so amazing & we love them a lot!

Also, our cute little friend, Brooklyn, got baptized as well! She is so cute & she looked so beautiful in her white dress! It was a beautiful day :)

Earlier this month, the youth took a trip to Nauvoo & one of the sweet girls we are teaching went... SHE LOVED IT! We got a text from her this week saying that SHE WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED! But that's not the best part! She bore her testimony on Sunday about how she knows this church is true and that it feels so right & we were crying & a lot of the members were crying too. It was so heartfelt & genuine. She is amazing & we are so excited for her!

There were so many miracles this week! We have SO much to be grateful for!

On that note, I started a gratitude journal & let me tell ya.. IT IS THE BEST! Haha I 10/10 recommend writing a gratitude journal as you go about your day! It can change your whole perspective! I think I have grown more grateful as I've been more grateful (if that makes sense) & I feel like I have more to be grateful for too!

I am also noticing that God really guides our lives. He places each little experience so neatly next to the last & preparing for the next so that we can best learn. I have decided that I don't believe in coincidences. God's hand is in every second of our lives. I challenge you to recognize it and see what He may be trying to tell you or show you or help you learn.

Something that I have been led to study this week & for a while now is Faith. "Faith is trust- trust that God sees what we cannot and that He knows what we do not" & it also means that we "trust in His love." This quote is from Elder Uchtdorf's talk, "Fourth Floor, Last Door." SUCH A GOOD READ! (again 10/10)  I think trust is one of the hardest qualities to develop especially when we have to trust in something we can't see. But I know that if we put our trust in God, we will be able to see that we didn't misplace it & He will show us that we can trust Him. He will perform miracles in our lives & show us His tender mercies. I also thought it was interesting (an Elder pointed this out in a zone council) that faith is trusting in His love. Preach my gospel says, "Faith in Him means that you trust Him and are confident that He loves you." If we have confidence that He loves us then we know He would never let us down & that He is watching over us. It means that in every trial we face, we can have the hope and peace that comes through our faith because we know that He loves us. I think I have a long way to go before I will have the kind of faith that can move mountains but for now, I can have faith strong enough to give me that peace and confidence that He loves me.

A quote I really liked this week :)
"Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever." - Jeffery R. Holland

Have a wonderful week! Remember who you are (& who's you are) & what you stand for! I love you all & I wish you the best in all of your endeavors! You are in my heart ♡

Love, Sister Freeman

Pictures :)
1-2. We found a patch of sunflowers (such a happy tender mercy!)
3. The Book that makes me so happy!
4. Members feed us well.. even when they can't feed us!
5. I got to be an Hermana for a day!
Little rant here... I love these Hermanas! It was so fun to speak awful Spanish with them! (Haha reeeeeally wishing I had retained more from high school lol). But hey, let me tell you, the gift of tongues is real! I somewhat understood most of the conversations sort of! haha I learned so much from them & we had a ton of fun!
6-7. A funny story... So the family that just got baptized has the cutest little daughter, Scarlett. Haha TWO FAST SUNDAYS IN A ROW she has stuffed gummy bears in Sister Peñaflor's mouth! So, in order to keep up the tradition when Scarlett moves to Utah, I gave Sister Peñaflor gummy bears so that she can always break her fast with a gummy bear ;) hehe
8. The CUTEST family everrrr at Catie and David's baptism last Saturday :)
9. Our cute friend after her baptism on Sunday :)

hello
Hello! I’m Mindy. I love Spring and Fall weather, the BYU Cougars, reading, hiking and of course…my family! I LOVE being with them doing just about anything…but usually attending one of their games or just hanging out!
